I've been riding a wakeboard for a couple of years, but I'm an old guy compared to most of this crowd (40). I've been using a "Mutiny Freeboard" with 2" fins ever since I got my boat 2 years ago (99 Tige 2200i). I can just wake to wake easily, simple tricks, 180, etc. nothing huge by any stretch. But...

I just got a 2005 CWB Transcend (with CBW Boss bindings), and I'm having a little trouble getting use to the board, when I try to do a heelside progressive edge, the board is very loose. Is there any trick to keeping the edge? I've found that I have my weight very balanced between my front and rear feet when I'm starting my cut into the wake. Is that correct?

I don't feel the looseness on my toe side cuts, so I may move my bindings more to the heel side again, but I'm pretty far over there as it is. Any other ideas?

It may be feeling loose because your leading your cuts off with your chest instead of your knees. Bend your knees and use them for your cutting. If your on your edge it should hold well. The balanced weight is correct. If using your kneews over your chest doesn't work, try putting some bigger fins on it.

New boards always take some time to get used to, I can almost guaranty that's all it is.
