I've only been wakeboarding a few times, and I am practicing getting up and basic riding skills. I'm ready to get outside the wake but everytime I try, I am unsuccessful and fall one way or the other, been trying for a few weeks and it really isn't improving. Does anyone have any tips or information that might help me? Thanks.

try bending your knees as you go over the wake. concentrate on keeping your balance and riding it out. im not perfect at this part either, just getting used to it yet. this is what i find that works.

If you ride Regular (left foot forward) start by going to the left side of the boat, or Goofy (right foot forward) head to the right side. This will have you use your heel edge, which is easier for most people. Once you can edge outside on you heels the rope will naturally pull you back if you are still uncomfortable using your toe edge

Thanks Scorched_Ice7, I can't wait till I go out riding next so I can finally get outside of the wake. If anyone else has anything, please say it. Or if anyone has any beginner tips, I will be happy to hear them. Thanks.

what kind of boat do you ride behind? Maybe have the driver trim down, dump some weight (if you use ballast), or go a little faster. This will make your wake a little smaller which will help you over it to start out. Then as you improve a little make the wake bigger. Just remember to keep your weight centered, and just absorb the transition with your knees. Sounds like you may be going too slow over it and sykeing(sp?) yourself out... invision and be confident - you'll get it

Also, don''t look down. A lot of times if you look down at your feet you will fall.

I have a four winns 190 horizon with a 5.0 engine. I usually got about 18-19. Is that a good speed or not? Thanks for the tips everyone.

Work on things like progressive edge, switch, inside out wake jumps, 1 wake jumps, then work on W2W.

Try looking at the help topics too for beginners.

WTF, double post, sorry! Don't hit your back button after you post...I guess when you hit "retry" it resends your information, thus creating another post.

Also keeping both palms down on the handle can give the rider a little more balance when it comes to w2w jumping.
