Once i graduate from high school here in 2 years, a friend and i r planning on going to college in florida for the fact that we can wakeboard more often and hopefully have a career in wakeboarding. I only plan on going to 2 years of college but we r gonna go straight to florida and establish residency so it will be cheaper. But ill get to my point. How much does 2 years of college usually cost and how much would it cost to get an apartment and pay rent?

if anyone can help me Question

I do not want to be rude, but first I think you need to get a little more serious about your plan. This is not the place to pick your college, determine how much it costs to go to college, nor to research rents. I recommend you go to your desk and do your homework. Then study for the SAT. Once you get good grades and a good Sat score, you can decide what type of school you can go to. Then talk to your parents and guidance counselor and financial aid advisor to see the best school you can afford. Go to that school for a minimum of four years. No problem going to school in FL, that is a great goal. I am sure there are plenty here for you. Hopefully you will become a pro wakeboarder, however based on the 98% chance that you will not, it will nice to have a job where you can afford a boat and a house near a lake. IMO, from someone who has been there.

as soon as i finish high school, i wanna get out of my house (as do most teenagers). i honestly would love to go to florida so that i could wakeboard everyday rather than just once/twice a week for 1/2 of the year. but chosing a college (like partyb sayd) shouldn't just be out of the fact that u want to wakeboard. chose a school that has what u want, part of that can be wakeboarding, but always try to push yourself so that when you're 40, u wont look back and regret your decision.

damm.. i should be listening to my own post.. lol

It is retarded to go to college for 2 years and not get a degree. It's a total waste of money, if you just want to live in FL, just move there.

I'm still trying to figure out how you came up with that plan, in fact, we are all dumber after having heard that...

Paying for college doesn't just mean tuition, it also means books, food, eating out money, alcohol and misc party expenses, clothes, sports stuff, etc.. with no decent source of income b/c you are a student. Make sure you are getting in college for the degree, otherwise start looking for a job in a field with long-term opportunity so you can keep $$ in your pocket.

My only advice is pretty much what everyone else has hinted on. Don't waste time and money with college unless you have a set plan of what you want to accomplish. College should result in a worthwhile degree or its not worth the years you waste or thousands of $$ you spend there. You can go to college not knowing what field you want to choose, thats normal and thats why you get a 2-year cusion of taking prerequisite courses as an 'undecided' major. But you NEED to set your goals, you NEED to map it out on a timeline, and you NEED to stick to it if you want to accomplish anything. I have 25 year old friends that are still 'trying to graduate', and they don't have $100 in their savings account. Living day by day, eating out and drinking all the time, and its inevitable that they will be just as broke at the age of 35. Sorry Sorry Sorry.

Have a good time by all means, Florida has some great areas with decent colleges and community colleges, just make sure you are planning for a bright future down the road. Its no secret, a good college degree and work experience equals the security to buy $50K boats and mad toys.

Yo, I go to school here at florida southern college in lakeland. Its about 35 Minutes away from Orlando and we do have a waterski/wakeboard team. There is also a waterskiing class that you can wakeboard in. There is a huge lake across the street that is butter pretty much 80% of the time. Also, Shaun Murray and his brother went here for a little bit. Its a little pricy about 20 thousand a year but its worth it. There is only about 2000 students so its pretty small.
