how do you stop from getting pulled forward when you pull the handle to your back. Everytime i pull the handle it just pulls me forward so i have no chance to land it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated |

| If you look over your shoulder in the direction you're spinning, it will help you to pull yourself around using the rope tension instead of just pulling yourself closer to the boat. |

| Yeah, probably pulling to get slack instead of pulling to spin yourself. How far are you getting on the rotation? |

Do you mean you are getting pulled forward onto your face i.e. toppling over and going off axis?
If this is what you mean I think you are pulling the handle to high. I think you are pulling more into your chest or side of your ribs. You must try to pull the handle to your hip and this will give you the spin and help to keep you on axis.
I am also learning 3's at the moment and I had a similiar problem for a bit. |

yeah, that was right on......you are pulling the handle to your chest, ive dont that a couple times on accident and i can definitely tell. it has to be pulled waist high, give or take a little. _________________ "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them"

well its not so much the rope that will pull you off axis, if you are spinning to early off the wake, not letting your self pop off first then spin, you will go off axis _________________ "Live to wakeboard, wakeboard to live" |

but when you spin too early dont you usually get off axis leaning back instead of forward. He said he was getting pulled forward, with my experiance with 3's i get off axis with my weight back when i spin too early, and forward when i pull the handle too high.....but whatever works i guess.........good luck man, the 360 is a pretty kick ass milestone _________________ "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them"

pop, pull, pass.....dont let go of the handle until you feel it in your other hand, a lot of the time people reach for it, dont get it, then toss it. ive landed a bunch of 360's where ive already rotated the whole thing before ive even felt the handle. the key to getting the handle though is the pull, i pull it the the small of my back with one hand, but most people say that two works better(it'll probably bite me in the ass when i move on to bigger spins, but it works for now). This is what i do....
1. take a rpogressive cut that will get me at least 4 feet in the air and clear both wakes(not in the flats though)
2. do the whole leg extention thing and such but right when i leave the wake i look over my lead shoulder, let go with my front hand, and pull the handle to the small of my back with my back hand.
3. i keep looking over my shoulder to continue my spin and not to stall it(make it smooth, flow) and i start searching for the handle.
4. DONT LET GO.....let one of two things happen......you fall and the handle gets rippedout, or you pass the handle
5. from there its cake...congrats, its a milestone
it would also help if you coul get a video or yourself trying it on here _________________ "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them"
