|
|
| Can anyone recommend a good beginner board? I'm looking for something that's going to grow with me as I get better, but that's stable enough for me to get the hang of things at first. Any suggestions? I know that it's mostly about personal preference and I have to demo a lot of boards before I find one that I like, but I need a good place to start. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! |

| I'm 5'10 and weigh about 145 lbs. I can get up, go in and out of the wake, carve the water, etc...not too exciting, but I'm trying. I'd like to find something that's going to work for me now and also grow with me as I advance. Any ideas??? |

| Money isn't really an object...if the board is good and it will last me a while I'll spend the money. |

| Well i would get something definatly with molded fins. Really see if any local board shops offer demos. See if you can demo a few boards there, then buy whatever one you like the most |

| Try a Liquid Force Evo, I think they have a 137 or so. Like you said though demo before you buy its all personal preference. |

| If your willing to spend the money, I'm sure your local shop would let you demo a few boards first. The TFD, not really a beginner board, would possibly be a good option for you if your already have the basics. I think you'd outgrow a specifically beginner boards way too fast as these boards seems to help you get the basics - which you already have. |

I think the substance might be a little much for a beginner. It's almost identical to the Hyperlite Premier and the Gator Ricky G board.. It has a 3 stage rocker, and that may hinder your riding as a beginner.
Look into the LF Trip or the Team. They both have removable side fins so you can see which fin configuration you like best. Molded in fins might give you some problems when you first start learning surface tricks.
As for bindings, try out some alphas. They're super comfy, and they won't break the bank.
That said, my friend has the LF Team 134 with the red Alphas, and it looks pretty sweet. |
