|
|
Hi guys! we are looking for someone to come to Mexico for 2-5 days to give some instruction. we are not going to pay, it is all about fun and riding somewhere else and making new friends!!
Instead, we will cover the expenses of coming to Mexico like: flying tickets, lodging, food, wakeboarding rides and several tours to tipical places in Mexico(you wont pay for anything) lets say that you will be treated like a king or princess...
Here in Mexico we are starting to stablish a wakeboarding school, and it would be great for us to have guys from america who have good technique so that you can give instruction to our guys here.
We are loking for one guy and one girl who want to share their knowledge in wakeboarding and help us to make the sport grow.
All you need is to have a good wakeboarding level and being able to do tricks like 360`s, backrolls, tantrums, maybe raleys etc...
If you are interested please send an e-mail telling us your age, where do you exactly live, and a list of the tricks that you can do
We promise you are going to have big fun!
If you have any questions let us know via mail or just with a topic reply.
Important!!: we are not going to obtain any money from this, all the income is going to be used to pay the cost of bringing you guys here. As we said, we want to do this because WE LOVE WAKEBOARDING as you do!!!
contact us at: icma_22

| By the way it is just for 2-5 days....(some of you are asking via e-mail how long do you have to stay here in Mex, and that is up to you) if you want to stay longer it is ok!!

I could deal with this, when and where in Mex? Cancun I'm probably going to again this winter for two weeks.. It'd be alot better than paying 105 usd for 25 mins.. whatcha think?

Lantz, it can be whenever you can, as soon as possible of course, because as I said, what we need is someone with good level and tecnique who can help the sport to go bigger here and to make our school grow, obviously thats why we pay all the expenses of bringing you here.
The place is very close to Mexico city, Acapulco, Cuernavaca etc, Ill post some pics of the lake and all the students that we have here.
you can contact me by mail, and we can talk about this.
see ya

colefooter,
Think of it like an unpaid internship. Money is not the motivation. The motivation is the ability to go to Mexico with nothing; to wakeboard, have fun, hang out, etc.; and have everything taken care of without worrying about anything but teaching some folks to wakeboard. I can imagine the type of person who should probably jump at this opportunity (good rider, likes a bit of adventure, likes meeting new people, not much money to travel, etc).

yah I agree it would be a lil wierd and I'm not a taking advantage person, but prob is my age. I do have my judging certifiacte and a Nccp for coaching but I don't have my card for coaching for wakeboarding.

Actually I'll be in Mexico first week of September, but that will be in Cabo for my honeymoon. If you guys were there I wouldn't mind spending some time on the water. ( Just don't tell my fiance )

Thanks a lot for being interested on this proyect, and I have to say that I was a bit dissapointed because of the first 2 replies saying bullsh*t, but now I notice that some of you could get the idea (Salmon Tacos and others)of what we are looking for here at this wakeboarding school. To be honest thats the way I thought about it: If someone offers me the chance of going wherever(Argentina, Canada, England, China, Peru etc etc) having everithing paid(so that I dont spend any money) and having the chance to ride somewhere else and also teching what I know, For sure I would do it....
Anyways you can keep on posting "ugh.....non disrespect comments"(Haggi and others...).
Lantz: There is no problem about your age(how old are you??) even if you were 10 years old but you have a good technique and if you master killer tricks, we could manage it as a demo or an exhibition, and you dont need any card of wakeboarding teacher, so we will still keep in touch.
Xerxxes: we are going to be traveling around Mexico to lakes located at Playa del Carmen, Jalisco, Acapulco, etc, non of those are close to Cabo but thanks anyway for the comments

| whateveriam, why don't you buy a wakeboarding instructional dvd or even several and save your money. I've learned all the tricks you listed by just watching higher education. Unless bringing someone to motivate your students is a big factor. looks like your students are having fun, good luck with your camp.

This would be my DREAM! Unfortunately, I'm not skilled enough. Do you plan on featuring this for this summer only, or will this be a regular thing? I love Mexico...guys if you have the skills, JUMP ON THIS! Mexico..especially the non-touristy parts..have such an awesome culture and just fascinating people....this makes me want to learn every trick in the book....

wakeboarder_360, you just said it; the importyant thing here is the motivation they would get having someone from any part of the world coming here to teach them a little bit, tips, watching him/her ride, etc. I think Im good teaching wakeboarding, I also think Im a good rider, not an expert but I can do flips, spins etc, but the point is that it would be super fun to bring guys and girls all over the world to ride with us.
By the way I already have those videos and they are really helpful(thanks for the advise).

WakeDiva, Im planning this as a regular thing (every summer and winter and vacation time, and maybe some random weekends and trips to lakes around Mexico), but first of all, we need to start it in order to see if it is going to work.
There are some posts saying that you dont have the skills, so Im thinking of doing something where you guys can come here to Mex even if you dont have the skills, just to come to ride and hang with us, whatever.... I will think about something and let you know later.
WakeDiva, What tricks can you do?

Yo me ofresco para cuando sea invierno aca en los USA.
Incluso yo lo haria solo por las tortillas y frijoles volteados.
Una pregunta que tipo de bote tienen? y a que nivel hay que ensenar?
Cuantas personas?

I'd have said yes ANY time if I had had the skills tough!

This doesn't sound to weird. The only thing that is odd is it is someone that has not posted much. They have been on the board for a few months though.
I have done a bit of work with rotary motors and have spend some time flying around this continent helping people out with their cars. I usually get my plane ticket paid for, a place to stay and ask for one formal meal and a good bite to eat when I arrive. It is a free vacation and tons of fun, from the dozen or so times I have done it. All my trips were from people, not places running a business. Anyone need an EFI rotary tuned???? I will also demonstate my spaztic W2W also for you
Anyone that can do this should go for it. Sounds like fun, but still need to be careful. Not that whateveriam is a bad person (I do not know him/her), but there are odd people out there.
I wish I could help, maybe in 2006.

it sounds like some crazy scam to me. Why not just order some wakeboarding videos, or get someone else in mexico to show you. Surely someone in mexico knows how to wakeboard. I wouldnt go anywhere in mexico that wasnt covered with tourists. its not the safest place in the world

After 911, is the U.S. is the safest place?
Mexico maybe safer than D.C. any day. and that is your Nations Capitol.
Dude you're from Nashville thats why...
when was the last time you left the U.S. and got to meet the essence of a country and the ppl from there, not your gringo spots
How many minority friends do you have?.
You fail to realize how privileged you are to have the ability to afford to to wakeboard. Some ppl only dream of maybe one day trying to.

liquidcat, this has nothing to do with how many minority friends i have. It has to do with a post, asking people to come to mexico to teach them how to wakeboard. Why not just call a california boarding school, and ask one of their guys to come down. It just doesnt add up. I know that I deffinitly wouldnt go. And yes I have been out of the county many times, and I know that mexico is one place I wouldnt be travelling alone, especially if I was to live with someone I talked to over the internet...

DLX134,
if you dont want to come just dont come, if it sounds too crazy and not safe for you, do us a favour and stay where you are.
I have like 15 e-mails from guys who want to come(and they are your compatriots)
And as I told to someone here, you can keep on posting whatever you want, I dont really care that much
Ohh and about your other suggestions, to be honest I dont have time to answer to you that again, you can read my last posts and you will find the answer to your smart questions asking why dont I buy a wakeboarding video or why dont I get someone to show me.... ??? that was funny
so maybe you can go to a safer chat, see ya

DLX134 why would changing our president make us safer? if we changed presidents, and then (inevitably) we cut defense spending and tone down (if not cease entirely) our effort to stop terrorism in the ME. You can say whatever you want to about our country, but there is nowhere else on the face of the planet that i would rather live. I feel completely safe when i go to bed at night. I have faith in our gov't and in our armed forces. Are we a perfect nation, no, but we are the closest thing to it, and there is nowhere else i'd rather be.

PLEASE do not stray from the subject to a political debate, I've seen to many topics like these... Really, if you want to argue about what country/what president is better, please go in non-wake and start a thread about it!
