| I saw a guy at the boat landing who had built a mudflap-like contraption on his truck receiver to block rocks from being kicked up into his boat. Has anyone else seen anything else like this, or even better yet has anyone built something like this to protect their prize? I have seen them on RVs to protect the cars they are towing, but never on a boat. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a good idea, cuz once you pull the boat the tires are all wet and shoot dirt and junk back onto the front part of the hull as soon as you drive down the road. I bet he saves time wiping it down when he gets home plus it should prevent rock chips and little dings like that.
I don't know of anyone that has one and I don't need one cuz my boat stays in the water almost all season.

Yea, my dad built one for both of us. They use 1.5" angle aluminum 5-6' long with a u-bolt attached to the reciever insert. That way when you don't need the ball, you pull the reciever and mud flaps out in one piece. He bought 2' wide rubber mud flaps from the truck stop. I modified mine with fog lights that face the water when on the ramp. That way the boat driver can see the trailer better. I have a toggle switch and an extra connector that plugs into truck lights. When the truck lights are on, I have power to the switch to turn the fog lights on. The whole system works well. I am also going to add some piano wire to keep the mud flaps down when traveling at highway speeds. I'll post some pics tonight. The only time I have noticed anything on the boat as a result of the tires was when I pulled the boat from storage and mad a tight turn through some deep mud. Other than that no new scratches or tar.

Roswell wake air makes a rock protector that mounts on the trailor. Not exactly the most pretty thing I've seen but it has its function. I don't see it on their website but I know they sell them. If you emailed them, I'm sure they could hook you up, they are awesome people.

| I saw a pair of mud flaps that attach to the receiver. It was pretty cool, but I can't find an example of one to show you.

Sorry it took so long to post pics, the computer craped out on me.
If the boat isn't hooked up it looks pretty dumb. Also, this width is for a full size truck, I have a Blazer, so it is a little wide.
