What is the best boat speed? I've heard anywhere between 19 and 22? Is this right? Hard to clear wake at these speeds! I must be doing something wrong |

Hey blits,
I pretty new myself. I began riding anywhere between 19-22 in the beginning and now I have found that about 24-26 and with good pendalem effect edge towards the wake will get the wake to wake your looking for. build your speed and confidence over time work up to it, i have progressed much faster that way than just taking a stab at it. after my first W2W i was so excited that i did it i ended up face planted not paying attention. seen ya |

It really depends on the boat, but usually between 21 and 23 mph is a good speed... _________________ wakeboards

it really depends on the boat, since i dont have a speedometer on mine, I just check the RPMs once the rider is getting up and is up...For my boat, right at about planing speed is where the rider gets up, and about 1K RPM over planing speed is the comfortable riding speed...hope this helps |

i cant stand my boat, its a Sea Ray 210
i usually go about 19 but it can never keep a steady speed like whenever we turn around it will drop down to 15 or 14 even 12
and what really sux is that the wake curls over around 18... _________________ Wake Forest University |

yeh
but even 26 is a little fast pros ride at 24/25 and they are useing like the wakesetter with 2000lbs of ballast and also they use longer ropes i ride at 22 and i land in the flats if i really cut hard. |

19-22 is fine. if you want to clear the wake easier then shorten up your rope _________________ show_boy08 |

start out slower id say, untill you get more comfy with doing small 1 wake jumps, then kick it up to a higher speed and go w2w |
