|
|
| I started trying these again...Ive tried about 4...i can get the board to go behind me and have a good takeoff and air...my problem is when i try to pull myself back i start rotating backside like an s-bend....I dont know how to keep my body in the raley position throughout the whole trick...do i need to put more weight on my back foot on my approach? |

| yes, this can be from too much weight on front foot, looking down or to the left or right depending on what way you ride instead of the tower, not pulling the handle to the center of your hips. |

where you look can help, but the truth is that your spinning cause you have too much weight on your front foot when cutting into the wake. Concentrate on even weight distribution... _________________ UCSB Waterski Team |

| i learned raleys on a wakeskate, and on the same day, i landed my first raley. that was 2-3 weeks ago. i wasnt getting them consistent, and then a bad prop put us out for a few days. a couple days ago i got them consistent(for like two days) and now i'm starting to not get as high and my front foot is coming down first, but when i hit the water i go to my back foot and slip out. im left foot forward btw. |

i was consistent on my raleys and i pussied out of one today....had to get my friend to slap some sense into me...just put more weight on your backfoot and that should solve most of your problems from what i hear, at the last second before the water, even out your weight distribution _________________ Broke, Unsponsored, Carless, Broken donor cycle, 18 credit hours... and i drive to class wheeliein my sisters 49cc scooter... yea im bawlin |

| Thanks for the advice i will try these again in smooth water...im pretty sure my problem is too much weight on the front foot and not my head placement. |

Colefooter..
The whole look at the tower thing is more of a method of keeping your head up. Keep your head up and in a solid position. Anyone ever told you where your head goes, you go?? same with a raley. If you duck your head you will end up doing a wierd front thing and eating it.
In what way are you inconsistent though, pop?
if your pop is inconsistent it is probably because you may be letting off slightly just before the wake. I used to do this thinking i had to stand tall to maximise the pop, but i was actually killing it thought releasing the line tension early. |

its your cut. Some people have a tendency to drop a shoulder (your front) in this case, which causes your body to rotate. If you leave the wake on your edge with your shoulders square to the boat then look at the top of your tower through the jump...then your raley should be the shiznit. _________________ Crownsville Wakeboard Team |
