Hello...
I am a 32 yr old female, Im 5'2" & weigh between 110lbs & 115lbs.
I just started riding not long ago. I bought a board from someone that had never used it, for $60... even though it wasn't the right size.
The board is a 141... I'm hoping to get a new girlie board for christmas. I figured a 126-134? Would that be right? I don't have any trouble getting up on the board. Like I said I have only ridden about 5 times, I'm just learning to go outside of the wake & back in, but I do it slow. What problems will this huge board create for me?

Hey Jez
You know the thing about wakeboard sizes is that they're just like cars. So being a smaller female (which I am also myself), your 141 is like driving a big truck. Sure you can get up and get around on it, but as far as you being able to maneuver it well, you'd be better off with a smaller board. In my opinion buying a board for 60 dollars was great, how can you go wrong for 60 bucks? If you're messing around and learning basics you'll have more of a feel of what kind of board you will want to get next. So get that girlie 126-134 board and get on the water. You can definitely feel the difference. I learned how to ride on a 141 also and got my 134 and it was an insane difference. Even if you don't get that smaller board right away, keep riding on yours, or borrow boards... riding something is better than not riding at all. |

I dont really know if this is true or not, but I heard that the board should be about the length of your feet to your shoulder... |

| We ride with a girl about that size and currently she has a 133 and is looking to go up to about a 137 (she really likes the Liquid force fusion) a larger board is more stable and gives more pop but is heavier and harder to spin/turn. The real key is to demo, most shops let you demo for the weekend for around 20 and then you apply the rent money to your purchase |

Here they say board size depends on weight. I (120 / 5`7``) ride a LF 128, a board you 'can ride' till like 132 lbs) and have absolutely no problems with pop, spin or whatever. It's only a little bit unstable at chubby water. I'd ever ride a 143, I was enormous . My advice? Try one between 128 - 134, you'll love it! |

Thanks everyone:)
I will definately look into a smaller board... I also heard the female specific boards are made lighter.
I will definatly keep riding this one untill I get another board... I'm so hooked that I would ride a piece of plywood if I had too.
Thanks again:)

| MzJez, I'm pretty sure that "girl boards" aren't made lighter. They're exactly the same as a guy's board, just with girlie graphics. For example, the Hyperlite NYX (girl board) is the exact same thing as the Era. That said, don't limit yourself to what some company said girls should ride, and don't buy a board simply on graphics alone. I ride a LF Trip 133.5, and i like it a lot. Once you get the hang of edging, you can take the center fins off and it's like a whole new board. |

| You don't really need a "girl" board, those are just the looks on the board. Get whatever feels good, demo a few |
