Looking for a binding...(easy in, easy out)

Well while I'm looking to buy a first wakeboard, I see that all the packages come with bindings that seem inconvient to me. So now I'm interested in getting a blank board, then getting the bindings that suit me. I assume I can use Brand A bindings with Brand B boards?

The two boards I'm looking at are the Liquid Force Evo 138 and the O'Brien Oasis 137. So if sticking with the same brand is necessary, those are the two.

The binding I'm looking for is something extremely easy to get into and get out of. I used a board with velcro bindings the other day, and damn did I like it. Sure every once and a while when I fell my feet would come out, but it was no burden to get into the board and off. Every board I've tried to use that has bindings with laces, they've left marks on my feet.

I'm not sure I understand the concept with say for example - the Liquid Force Super Suction binding. I can't really tell what the hell it is! Or maybe I am wrong and bindings with laces are the easiest. Nonetheless, any suggestions are appreciated, thank you!

Well the bindings that are harder to get in and out of are mostly going to be more supportive. You might want something with like a velcro strap and laces that you tighten. If you want to spend alot of money I'd go with the Temets from Hyperlite. I like the BOA system because they get as tight as you want and when you release it the binding opens up really wide. I was able to get it on/off without a problem. No slime, no nothing.

I am actually really attached to my Liquid Force Evo bindings. They do happen to be laces, but they're really easy to get on in the water. I would highly recommend those because of that.

Also just last week I tried a friend's Hyperlite Split bindings. Those were really nice but they were a pain to get on in the water. But as a second choice they were more comfortable to wear.

I have the TEMET boot, and i absolutely love them. really supportive, yet really easy to get in and out of. are a little pricey, but i think well worth it. hope you find a good boot.

yes, there is a problem as far as my budget goes...I cannot spend $400 on a binding unfortunatley, my max budget board+bindings is the $300 range Crying or Very sad

Well it's good to hear that the Evo bindings are good...anyone used the O'Brien Exit 13? Those look nice

I wouldn't worry about how easy it is to get into your bindings. All beginners have issues putting on and taking off bindings at first, but in not to long you will have no problem. As long as you get the right size.

But thats just my opinion.

I know I already mentioned this in my last post, but without having to make a new thread, does anyone know how the O'Brien Exit 13 bindings are? I managed to find an O'Brien Oasis 137 cheap enough so I can afford the Exit 13's...they seem nice, but there is only one review (yet positive) on wakeworld.com

i would say the hyperlite split, would be great , its an awesome entry level to intermediate binding

You can usually find some used Belmonts on e-bay for $100...my daughter was looking at some LF Alphas the other day, they looked pretty sweat....my other daughter has CWB Mobe's, she says they pinch her feet at the toes...I guess the lesson here is TRY THEM ON...bindings are like shoes, different brands fit your fit differently... like samck89, says, the Splits seem to be a good starting point....and yes, you can ride any board with any bindings...price wise tho, you may do better with a package deal

Thanks for the help so far guys, I've managed to find a board I like for a cheap price, which allows me to get a higher priced binding...not the temet however Laughing

Still my question lies with the O'Brien Exit 13, they look nice with a great description, I just don't want to make a wrong decision.

I think I've narrowed the bindings down to either the Liquid Force Evo, Alpha, Hyperlite Split and O'Brien Exit 13.

I personally haven't had good experiences with o'brien bindings. Back lace bindings like the Exit 13 are also going to be harder to get into. Check to see if you can get some Liquid Force Alpha bindings on ebay or something. I think there is a guy selling a pair of Larges or Xls in the classifieds on this site for $150 plus shipping. Those would be great bindings, very comfortable and very easy to get on and off. If that is too much look into some Hyperlite Splits or something.

show_boy08, not really. I have had my bindings for a while and haven't had to really work to get them in, now it does take a while for them to get comfy.

I like the alphas too, they are comfy bindings. They have a very soft footbed too

your probably right but thats the way my hyperlite splits worked. the rubber got a little looser each week until it was perfect
