I'm new. I slalom, snowboard, etc. Never waked. Have a MC with no tower or bladder. Next boat will be either the X10 or X-Star. I'm 38, 195. I see my 10 year old loving it and want to get into it. Looked at CWB Sol, Tattoo, or Pure....Also the Hyperlite Motive. I'm thinking of more an Intermediate board to grow into versus a bigger such as the SOL. Any thoughts out there? My style I see as kinda like snowboarding....slaloming back and forth getting air and the occasional 180 or 360 versus flips and craziness of that sorts.
Thanks

make sure you have a non-strech rope for your wakeboarding....not a slalom rope _________________ Chris Crawley

Ahhhh thanks. And the non-strech rope? Never would have thought about that. I did notice a rope the otherday at the Mastercraft dealer that was thinner and was a boarding rope, also a tighter weave.....they also sell CWB's.
Thanks Backsplit! _________________ Good Beer, Good Cheer! |

I would see if you could demo a few boards beofore purchasing. Being that there are a ton of different boards that all ride a bit different it's best to know what you're getting before dropping a ton of money on a board that might not match your style and comfort.
Binding are also critical. Since we all have differnt sized feet, what one person may love and recomend may be very uncomfortable for you.
Getting to demo the equipment first is key, but i understand that we all don't have that luxury.
All in all, I would say that the choices of boards you listed would be a good place to start.
Good luck and welcome to the sport!!! |

| DBudman, like stanny said; demo. Demo a board, take it out, ride it, let your son/daughter ride it and see how you both like it. Demoing is the best thing you can do when looking for a board. |
