yeah dude, this keeps you on balance, and keeps you from slipping out on landings. also I find that for myself this also helps to soften some of the bigger landings for me, although I havn't heard anyone else say that before.
good luck riding dude, tear it up out there! _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

So your not supposed to flatted the board out at the top of the wake when you stand tall?
When Im coming into the wake Im squated and leaning way back (like im sitting). I have my board half out of the water. When I hit the wake like this I usually bust. _________________ Visit www.nashvillewakeboarder.com for riders in the Nashville, Tn area! |

| I use a progressive edge up to the wake, wait and get some pop off of the wake while extending your legs. And yes, you do land on edge. This is also a big fact in 180's, make sure you keep the edge. |

you don't always have to be cutting as hard as you can...just not flat, that is where you get people slipping out and having to cut back towards the wake to keep from falling. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

You never wan't to "flatten out" this lets out all the tension you have in the rope. That is why no-stretch ropes are important in wakeboarding because they don't stretch so they just build tension. The tension combined with you straightening your legs so you don't absorb the wake is what gives you "pop" It's not about speed. Cutting right, you can go wake to wake from 5 feet outside the wake. Use a 1-10 scale for your cut. In a progressive edge you start at 1 and just let the boat start to pull you back into the wake then start edging harder and harder until you are at 10 or your hardest edge at the wake. Without "flattening out" straighten your legs but stay back on your legs so you don't lose your tension, but you don't absorb the wake. It will take a little while to get comfortable.
To help keep you balanced and eveything keep the handle at your waiste and when you land look where you want to go not at the water because your body follows where you look. Hope this helps. _________________ www.krookedminds.com

He is talking about landing, not jumping the wake. Yes, if your hitting the wake heelside then you want to land edging away. _________________ Im sick of seeing these posers with 50k boats who can't even wakeboard. |

So you would hit the wake on edge and you be leaning back with your legs mostly straight, but not your body straight up and down? _________________ Visit www.nashvillewakeboarder.com for riders in the Nashville, Tn area! |

Tonight I tried to get the progressive edge better but didnt have too much luck. I got one pretty good jump but didnt make it w2w.
If I lean back too much when I get to the top of the wake I seem to lose all control. I made it one time all the way out to the flats but was not in control and the board was not under me. I landed on my face. _________________ Visit www.nashvillewakeboarder.com for riders in the Nashville, Tn area! |

just don't rush it man. a strong recomendation is don't go for it your first jump. make a couple passes... get a little air so your pumped up. THEN go for it... and dude, balls out is the best way to go, cuz if you land on the wake it effin hurts _________________ Laugh hard, it's a long way to the bank... |

pcm2a, sounds like you might not be edging all the way up the wake.Concentrate on edging through the wake. _________________ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 |
