So I know some of you have made your own wakeskates, in the end how much did it cost you on average? _________________ Some female cows have horns, but you wouldn't really know anything about that now would you? |

| Actually I enjoyed making the wakeskate, but I think I'm going to eventually purchase a wakeskate. Mainly because the board I made flexes, doesn't have a very sharp edge, and has already separated once already. I'm also told that a 3 stage rocker is supposed to give you more pop, where as my press only makes continuous rockers. Its great to have one, and now after the press I can turn out wakeskates for about $35. |

I'm building one right now. I've spent $40 cdn so far, and I've bought everything I need except for griptape. I actually overbought, and I think I'll have enough supplies to make a second.
I built my press from scrap wood, so that saved me a lot. I don't have my camera here, so I can't take pictures, but it's more simple than the ones you guys made. It's pretty much two boards running the length of the skate, with boards screwed down across at the ends to force the tip and tail up. I then clamped down the middle with two boards running across the skate, giving it a 3-stage rocker. |
