At about the midpoint of the last five cds I've burned, they all turn out fuzzy like they have been severely scratched. I've tried playing them in a computer, car cd player, and home cd player. All of which eventually come up with an error, and won't play the cd anymore. I've tried burning on different brand cds at different speeds. I've had this burner for over a year and never had a problem. Any suggestions or should I just not waste my time and swap it out? Thanks for any info. _________________ My Gallery

swapping it out is so easy to do - that is what I would do - then I would open up the case and see if you can see anything inside that is causing the problem. If you can fix the old one then you have dual burners. I would just get a DVD burner since they are so cheap now adays anyway. _________________ If you do not like your job, you don't strike....You just go in there everyday and do it really half a$$ed.....Now that's the American way - Homer Simpson. |

DVD burner is tempting. I guess I was hoping for some simple solution to fix mine. For now I took the lite-on 24x burner out of my other comp to replace the msi 52x, and that has been working. If I get the motivation some day maybe I'll rip it apart and try to clean in. _________________ My Gallery
