i know this isint the board to post this kind of stuff, but i got a question,,....ok to make a long story short, my younger brother was replacing the batteries in our jetskis, and accidentley put the positive to the negative and the negative to the positive, now it wont do anything, did he burn out the starter or is there a fuse that blew or what, please if anybody can help me it would be great so i can fix it soon.

| there is probably a fuse or breaker somwhere. at worst it could be the solenoid switch. you didnt mess up the starter. |

It probably doesnt matter anymore, because I heard as of 2004 they are being outlawed everywhere. It has already started here on some of the California, Nevada and Arizona recreational lakes. _________________ http://www.mutinywake.com

Matt, if you can find the elecrtical box ( there should be a ton of wires running to it) there should be a "reset button" It will be poped up if for some reason it needs to be reset, like mixing up the terminals. It is a long shot but it could be whats the matter. _________________ www.hyperlite.com

i dnot think this is true. i did hear something like they are outlawing the sale of 2 stroke jetskis by the year 2004 because of water pollution. That is why sea-doo has started the 4-tec line and many other manufacturers are following. |

| Hey man I did this with my friend about two weeks ago. It blew a fuse. Look in your owners manual there should be a little fuse box somewhere a 2002 Yamaha xlt has 2 fuses and 2 spares, i think the 20 amp one is the one that blew on his. replace it and it should be fine. make sure u buy another fuse though to replace the spare.....hate to be DIW cause of a simple blown fuse. hope this helps u out. Later |
