|
|
I recently ordered a Mobius and wanted to get some opinions from some possibly more knowledgable people. I am obviously getting a great deal on the Mobius, tons of features, good warranty and a boat with zero hours. I am planning on using this boat for mostly Wakeboarding, with some slalom, tubing and other stuff for my friends. I also have recently looked at a 2002 Wakesetter Direct Drive with 380 hours but a full new boat Warranty and a new boat interest rate, it was a demo. What are some opinions on which way to go.
The mobius would have wake plate, 310 horse eng, tower, stereo, cover, rise-r seat, bow filler, rear ballast, 3 yr warranty, heater, 0 hours and a trailer.
The Wakesetter would have 310 horse as well, wedge, center MLS, tower, trailer, warranty, cover, and 380 hours.
Please advise on which boat would be a better purchase if I could get equal payments on both. How much more would anyone pay for the Malibu?
Thanks! |

| Both would be great boats. I just recently bought a Mobius and I love it. As a buyer, I would want the lowest hours with the best warranty. Plus, the feel of a new boat is like none other. Maybe I'm just bias towards my boat but I would go for the mobius. |

I agree with Jon, I just recently bought a new Malibu Wakesetter XTi, but I would still go with the Mobius, 380 Hrs is alot. IMO. Good Luck with whatever you decide. _________________ Wake chicks wanted! |

| Has anyone ridden the mobius 03 and the wakesetter and could compare the two? I am planning on weighting the @#$% out of the Mobius(around 2000 lbs in sacs). |

| I've ridden behind both a Wakesetter and Mobius, the Mobius wasn't '03 but it was the same hull. The wakes are very similar. With a wedge on the Malibu, it will be a little more vert. The Mobius has a wakeplate on it that you can adjust that will shape the wake for you also. The wedge required less weight in the boat for a better wake though. With the Mobius loaded with 2000 lbs, you will get a lot better wake than a stock wakesetter. I only run about 1300 lbs in mine and its a great wake. |

| Dude go for the mobius all the way. Malibu boats arent made well at all! I've also ridden behind both and the mobius has a more vert wake rather than the soft rampy wake of a malibu. Also the malibu's wake has no pop at all, if u like pop definately go for the mobe. |

Sorry Northshorerider, but you don't become the runner up in ski boat market share by producing a non-quality boat. I couldn't disagree more with your statement _________________ www.MidwestMilitia.net |

That's a new one, Moomba is a better quality boat than Malibu. |

| Even though I do own a Moomba, Malibu is better made than Moomba is. Neither of the boats are made poorly though. Moomba is a great boat for the money. Malibus are a litttle more expensive because of a little better quality and different options. I am still sticking with my original choice though, go for the moomba. |

I still think malibus are horrible but everyone has there own opinion. But my friend has had his malibu vlx for 2 months and the seats are already ripping around the seems and it only has 67 hours. But my friends mobe that he's had for a year with 130 hours on it is still like new. But I was just putting my opinion in, not trying to argue with anyone. |

Go with the Mobius all the way. Malibus have an all ramp wake and the mobius has a vert wake. plus moomba has steped up there quality up a ton in the past 3 years same as malibu now. _________________ www.NORTHSHOREBOARDSHOP.com

| Let's get to hull shape. Which hull shape, not hull quality, will produce the best Wakeboard wake, and is it worth 380 hours to get the better Wakeboard hull? |

| The mobe has a good hull and a great wake. If it was me i'd go for the mobe because of warrenty, 0 hours, better wake, and a great inexpensive boat. |

| The Wakesetter is a Demo boat so it would come with a new boat warranty and a new boat interest rate. |

| When I was looking it was similiar to you, used Nautique or new Moomba, I got the Moomba and really like it. Didnt have the new waranty on the CC though. 380 hrs is about 3yrs of use for me. My friend has a Mobius and the wake is great with just the stock in it, with the extra you'll be huge. One thing noone has mentioned is the dealer, a good one makes a huge difference, you'll be dealing with em all the time even if you dont have problems and if you do then its even more important. Make sure you get the warranty in writing and read it carefully. |
