ok here is the prob. I'm haveing trouble picking up speed to get across the wake. I usually get about 4 ft of air but I can just get the tip of the board to touch the wake on the other side. I'm right now working on a heelside W2W. I have jumped it befor but it is not consistant. I'm being pulled at about 15 mph (it's in the river aginst the current so give or take Mph). Any help would be greatly apreciated

Thanx

15mph is really slow. i would pick up the speed to at least 18. i started not too long ago and im riding at about 22. if you go faster the wake gets narrower. plus youre riding a bit faster, so you should be able to get over it.

Speed is key (assuming a wake is present)

Legs straight when you hit the wake (bent knees asorb thus diminish launch energy)

Keep the handle in close to your body (extended arms asorb thus diminish launch energy)

Get some pictures of you hitting the wake - it'll be easier to tell you what your doing right & wrong.

ok one question I'm useing a Sea Ray 17 ft ski boat. It throws a bout a 2 to 3 foot wake at 15mph. And like a SKI boat the faster u go the less wake ther is. I have attempted W2W at 20 and there is little wake. I have w2wed at 17mph but I was cutting it close. I have found that I am looseing speed when I transfer edges when I start a progressive edge back to the boat. I will try to get some pictures soon. but I probly won't be out for a while. Any ideas on the cutback to the boat and how to pick up speed there??? Also if I add weight on the heelside wake side of the boat will that affect the size of the wake??

ok 1st question, the cutback, you cannot cutback toward the wake to quickly or else the rope will slack up horribly and u will lose speed, wat u need to do is cut out and hold ure toeside edge for a second to let the rope tighten up again, then do a normal progressive cut, slowy transfer to ure heelside edge, lean back and bend ure knees a little bit and just let ureself gain speed, when u get close to the wake straighten your legs out a little so u will get the pop, practice the progressive cut over and over again, each time taking it harder and faster and you will be clearing the wake like uve been doin it ure whole life.....now question 2.....adding weight to only the heelside edge will make the wake bigger, but on both sides.....the difference here is that ure toeside wake is goin to be junk if u do this....the best bet is to evenly distribute the wieght for best results.....and to add with everybody else...i agree on kicking the speed up to at least 18 mph....i ride at 21, its all personal preference, so try a bunch of speeds and see what you like the best.....wooo that was a lotta typing so i hope this helps ya out haha Laughing

Yep, you just need to add weight to your boat. Mine is a wakeboard/ski boat but it doesn't have the nicest wakeboard wake without weight. Just add weight and pick up the speed. Things should fall into place.
