Ok, since I am very new to this sport (as well as my boat driver), we would both like to know how to pull a boarder - properly. I.E. how fast should he start out, how fast should he accelerate and how fast should you go when the rider is fully up?

Through trial and error, we have found the most comfortable speed (once the rider is up) around 19-23 mph. Is this about right?

umm when getting up it really depends on what the riders preference is like i get up easier if the boat is going sorta slow but others get up when the boat just takes off when the boat accelerates faster. a beginner rider should probably ride at no more than 20mph and intermediate and beyond ride at like 20-24mph

I generally pull and I find that a consistency in the start is good, and yes slower speeds for newbies at first
Also practice turning and stopping because so you dont throw a load of wake ans wash on them as you come back around.

Yep, you have the right general speeds. stick to 19-21 I would say depending on the boat. As for getting up it's all comfort. Once you get better you will be able to get up blindfolded on one leg and without holding the rope (well you may need that), but it gets easier.

Speed is determined by the person behind the boat. A beginner cannot handle my SANTE wake at 19 m.p.h.

Kids 5 and under I start at 9 m.p.h.
5 to 10 at 13 m.p.h.
Over 10 at 15 -- 16 m.p.h.
