what is this sport all about?

Hey
I'm a wake boarder, but Iv'e always been curious about wake sk8ting.
I've seen this guys doing their stuff and I have great respect for the sport.
I heave a few questions: Do ppl that wakeboard wake skate too? I'm set up for wakeboarding now, besides a wake skate what new gear would I need to start wake skating? What is cool about wake skating that makes it better then wakeboarding? Is easy to learn?

I would appreciate some answers cause it looks like an awosme sport.

1. yes i wakeboard and wakeskate but some choose to do only one or the other.
2. you only need a wakeskate and shoes(shoes are only nescesary if you got a grip skate but help a lot with foam skates too)
3. skate tricks and just the freedom of not being attached to the board
4. its easy to get up and do cuts and stuff on but when you try going w2w or doing shuvits and stuff it gets tricky.

-yes, people that wakeboard wakeskate too.
-you need the same equipment to wakeskate as you do to wakeboard. the only difference is that you only need a skate (shoes are optional) instead of a wakeboard and bindings.
-wakeskating is easy to learn if you know how to wakeboard. it will actually teach you how to edge better, so it will probably help your wakeboarding skills.
-whats fun about wakeskating? why dont you try it and find out...

it is really an enjoyable alternative/addition to wakeboarding. enjoy.

I think It is harder to learn than wakeboarding, getting up because even tho its basically the same technique the skate is much smaller and hard to balance on at first. Also if ur foot draggs in the water it sorta screws u up. Its great fun tho! Challenging but fun.
