Got my first 360 last night, figured I'd post in here since I leveraged as many tips from this forum as possible to stick this trick.
Big things that helped me get the handle pass:
1. Head up and leading.
2. Practice HS 180, bringing rope hard (with both hands on handle) to back hip. This helped me coordinate rotation, staying on axis, and pulling the handle in hard enough for the pass. Shortly after working this (like 10 min later) I stuck a perfect (per the 3 other people that saw me hit it) 360.
WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!
Back roll here I come!!! |

congrats... apparently the backroll is easier than the 360. most spins are harder then inverts because you have to worry about your axis. i dont know this firsthand since i cant do either.
BUT, this last weekend ive been coming really close to landing backrolls. i get all the way around and falling back (i think its a handle positioning issue screwing up my balance)
i also tried my first 360 this past weekend. i got half way around (looking away from the boat) but i let the handle get away from my body so i bailed it haha. i gave up tho cuz i wanted to get by backroll down |

backrolls = WAY easier than 360, and the falls are painless. Can't say that for the off axis face plant 360 crash... _________________ UCSB Waterski Team |

Hmm, good confidence booster there Raidersftball181...
Although, I haven't had any really bad falls working on the 360 YET. Guess I've been lucky.
Having a harder time visualizing the backroll motion. Just going to have to go out and throw a few and see what happens. |

Yea the 360 ends up with face plant city. Backrolls are nice and fun and don't hurt. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

Keep at it CHiLi DaWg, you'll get it.
I think that I spent more time learning 180's than the 360. |

| I agree! I got the tantrum down before a 360. I also got my first minor concusion from a 360. |

spining creates nasty falls. Every bad crash i've ever taken has been from a spin. Even my nasty falls on inverts were caused by the spin in the invert (like 180 in the r2r)... _________________ UCSB Waterski Team |

I have had my fair share of backroll yard sales. tantrum was was easy on me and 360's still bite back.
It all depends on why your not landing the trick.

| very true... but for the most part... i think less can go wrong on a back roll than a 360. a tantrum i dont know though. i could see tantrum falls hurting. most of my backroll falls have all been landing on my back. the worst being those that i hit the water and the board is ripped off my feet. at least the board is coming off instead of ripping the bindings. just have to make sure when it comes off i dont hit my head on the board when i come back up. im most afraid of the falls where one foot comes out and the other doesnt. i have had a few of those, but they havent been that bad. |

Woah that sounds nasty. For me it's usually all or nothing and when I fall it's mostly all. Yea I got my first and only concussion on a 3 too. Hence why I haven't tried one in 3 years. That fall I think set me back in my progression. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

go for it ben... ive been trying backrolls like crazy (with very slow progress) and havent really had a bad fall yet.
id like to learn tantrums also, but i wanna get the backroll down before i try tantrums. which of the two is easier? i would think the backroll would be easier |

Leaving the wake way early!
Try a few Mexi rolls, don't look up and away just rock up the wake and drop the head down.

And you should, those are the ones that cause the most injuries to the Knees.
I like my bindings nice and loose so when I go down it's a yard sale. I would rather have the entire board off than have one foot stuck in.... _________________ PEACE

| A back roll is all about coming in on edge and looking up over your lead shoulder. Really you hit the wake right & just hold on cuz it flips you around. It is definately easier than a 3, but 3's are so much funner. Tantrums are just a charge & huck move, pretty simple once you figure out how to come off the top of the wake. Have fun folks & congrats on your 3, now grab it! |

| I also landed my first 360 yesterday. The lake was choppy and i was getting pissed so i wanted to fall so i could quit. So i tried a 360 and holy sh*t i didnt fall. That was my first attempt at a 3 this year to. I tried 2 more but missed the handle both times. |
