run away fast. Stay away from Pyramid the stuff is junk, in no way would I put it in my car much less in a boat enviroment. if you want something good yet inexpensive look at Lightning Audio, it's made by Rockford. not as good as Rockford but still well worth the money. If you have questions about stereo feel free to email me or PM me. I worked in a stereo shop for 6 yrs. Just let me know if you go tmore questions or want to know if something is worht the asking price. _________________ Shane Cook

| Jay, I wouldnt take the chance on that no name stuff. The warranty might have lots of exceptions and it may be a runaround to get service. I would try crutchfield.com or bestbuy first. |

Just to put in a little perspective, those auctions, the price, is what usually cost is on a good cd player, Just the player. So you can imagine the quality of it, and personally, Why have a 40k boat and put crap equipment in it?
Granted i dont know what kinda boat you have, but id never put anything other then the best in my x-star. Ill be redo'ing my stereo once it gets closer to summer from the stock clarion system, replacing the 6 1/2's with Infinity 3 ways and, i actually havent decided what im replacing the tower speakers with yet. I love the sound of the infinity series, the 63.5i or somethin, not sure exact model #. |

"Just to put in a little perspective"...the average yearly income of a US citizen is less than the cost of your boat, so not all of us can afford "the best". _________________ Preston Duke

| I was actually putting into perspective the auctions he had listed had entire systems for the price of a decent quality cd player (around 200 bucks) and the quality of them. |

wakedork- i tried to pm you this but i kept getting an invalid session message so i posted it here. any one else feel free to answer my question also.
i currently have a 2000 dodge ram pickup with the infinity 6-speaker factory upgrade. i also have a kicker 600watt 4-channel amp and two mtx thunder 6000 10's in a thunderform box. Right now i have the subs wired to 2 channels on the amp but on the box it only has one speaker wire input. and i just have both channels going to the same input. the way the amp is set up i think it is basically 2 300 watt amps put together because it has seperate controls for amp 1 and amp 2. so basically i think im just running off one amp. also i dont have any power from the amp going to any of the other component speakers.
my first question is are the infinty speakers any good that came with the truck. my second question is is there a better way to wire the amp to the subs and should i hook up any of the component speakers to the amp?
as it is right now the system sounds good at low volumes but when i turn it up the bass gets severely distorted. is there anything i can do about this with out replacing speakers?
btw- i am currently just usinf the stock cd player with a pre-amp output added to it. |
