| I have a old imp boat that has been totally redone with a sweet air boom tower. my wake is huge and crests beautifully except when I cut hard the hole boat twist making the wake crumble. How can I get the boat more stable . It is an i/o and weights 5000lbs any help would be great. the other prob is that the wake crumbles when Im trying to landlock |

| it's not the wake that he's worried about, it's the prop spinning about 2 feet from you. if you fall towards the boat, that is the end of you my friend. you should really have an inboard for wakesurfing, the prop is nice and out of the way. |

try trimming up. u may also need to shift some weight around in the boat to get it balanced better. |

I used to have an 18' I/O... It had a "dolphin fin" (i think that is what it was called) - attached to the I/O - i believe that you can purchase one with additional fins to help with the tracking of the boat.
Check out www.overtons.com
Look under Boating - Parts - Performance - Hydrofoils
The shape of the hydrofoil may help resist the pull of the boat as you make your cut |

Thats an awfully short rope. My rope is about 60 feet.
Am I missing something here? |

| I think pcm2a just read about the prop spinning about 2 feet from you and didn't realize they were discussing wakesurfing as opposed to wakeboarding. Hope that clears things up. |

tracking fins for the boat would help with at least some of you pulling the boat with your cut _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

I have wakesurf behind an I/O. I never got close to the prop. Even if you fall forward, the boat is still driving away. So your say 2 feet from the boat, the boat is going 9 or 10 mph. you would have to actually JUMP pretty far forward to ge the the prop. with a board and water under you, the board would give way, taking away your jump, hard to hit the prop id say... _________________ www.Shadrack.com

| Tyler~Moore, remember that the rider is going the same speed as the boat, so it is possible. Not likely, but possible.[/quote] |
