|
|
| I just got my new setup in today and I went wakeboarding tonight and i'm usually consistent with my hs w2w jumps and I am almost there on my ts. However, tonight I was doing awesome on my heelside w2w's and getting big air and landing about 2 ft in the flats and everything but on my ts jumps i was barely popping at all and falling every single time. I've never really been that great at ts jumps but I could at least land them. I know this is because i'm not adjusted to my new stuff but on do you guys have any advice on ts w2w jumps? I can't even get over unless i go really slow. Help! I'm turning into a heelside johnny! |

You know how you cut out before you cut back in on a hs w2w? Use the same exact body position when you cut in toeside. I hate toeside, but you've got to do it. For every HS w2w, give ts a go. Start far in and slow and work your way out. Switch it up occasionally and try a swotch hs w2w....They are both hard and feel weird. I am about 1 ft from getting back into clearing the wake ts and its driving me crazy. My biggest problem though is not commiting all the way through. _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.

I'm pretty worthless on my toeside also...not my new setup I don't think just suck on that side. I've always wondered if I need to cut out harder on toeside to try to get my angle coming into the wake more like it is hs...ya know like hs I'm going at it at pretty much at 90 degrees but ts I'm more like 45. I don't know...hopefully I can get out there soon and work at it...it's going on 2 weeks for me since I wasn't able to get out this weekend _________________ Cause we are strictly business and we also got our pride

Make sure and lean forward on your ts, but don't break at the waist. That wake kicks you back when you hit it thats why you fall, if you lean forward you'll feel like you are going to fall forward at first but you'll stick it, and eventually get used to it. _________________ If it didn't hurt it wasn't worth tryin |

Me too! My friends keep telling me if I just suck it up and go for it. I will land toe side w2w. I don't know how I can shake my fear.
Heel side is a cinch now. I even play around in the flats, riding switch, doing slides and lipslides on the wake. But I am ready to progress into something new. _________________ Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Always fight. Never quit. Live to ride. |

Also with toe side, I have learned that if I let go of the rope with my left hand, I gain better balance on the landing. I have better balance with one hand instead of hanging onto the rope with both hands. It's kind of a trip. _________________ Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Always fight. Never quit. Live to ride. |

A good thing to think about when trying toeside is NOT letting go of the rope with the arm farthest from the boat. It seems easier at first to do that because you don't have the urge to twist around, but that's where all your power comes from. Try to lean away from the boat feeling the tension in that arm. Then, use a strong body position and the strength in your upper body to stay pointed to shore. If you're in the right body position, you should be able to keep both hands on the whole time, but once you know how to get across consistently, you won't have to anymore.
BTW, Sorry I missed you in San Jose, P-Chick. I did get to see K-Dub and Scott. Catchya next time! |

No surfing. Just hanging out and shooting. Are you going to surf? I only tried it once a few weeks ago. It was pretty fun. Something cool to do in choppy water. If the conditions are right, I'd rather ride my wakeboard. _________________ Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Always fight. Never quit. I wont be there at Calero tomorrow after all. I got invite to go ride the Delta. Sorry JRock Girl, duty calls. We'll have to meet up next time.
PS: I tried wakesurfing again today. Anderson was super blown out. I am addicted. I even got to ride a bit without hanging onto the rope!!! _________________ Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Always fight. Never quit. Live to ride. |
