i have no idea if this was posted before or something...but its different cause its in my case anyways so dont get pissed off . anyways...basicly i live in canada and can only board in the summer for like 3 months cause its cold and theres snow. well for me, the wakeboarding season is just starting and ive been looking forward to wakeboarding all winter. well last night i just went out for the first time and i already got my w2w back and my grabs and my 180's and i feel like its time to step it up a notch. for the last 2 summers its been pretty fast coming i think. the first summer i learned how to ride and stuff and then 2nd i learned w2w and 180s and grabs and 1 360(wrapped cause i killed myself with a concussion trying the handle pass). ive been researching all i can and looking up advice for how to do a backroll and i keep convincing myself im going to do and then when i get out there i freak out and cant. has anyone ever had this problem or am i just a baby. should i just go for it anyways? im really at the point where i need to do an invert to boost my confidence and try new things but i just cant rack up the nerve to do it. any suggestions? thanks |

if you dont have the confidence or are afraid to do it dont. thats when you get hurt. if you dont feel like you can or arnt able then you shouldnt try it _________________ CRAIGkelly.JEFFanderson.TRISTONpicott |

welldmac, most of the timw i am almost positive ill wreck when i do a backroll but it always works out eventually....hyperrider, the only reason i can land a backroll is because of my trampoline....before i would try it just because i was havin a bad day so i needed to take my board off my feet ( i know there are less painfull ways ) but know i got the rotation down and its simple to me. _________________ Visit www.myspace.com/alecperkins to listen to my music! |

I can tell you almost for sure that you are going to crash on you first attempt. probably 2nd and 3rd too. but I have wrecked on backrolls many a times and I have never had one hurt. If you can do a consistent wake jump and are comfortable when you are in the air, I say go for it. A backroll isn't like a raley. If you wreck on a raley, it hurts. every time! If you wreck on a backroll, you just flop onto your back. As always, If you aren't comfortable with a new trick, don't try it. Good luck. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

thanks guys for answering my question. dmac...i think i can do it now. ive decided to stop being afraid of it. wakeguy 2008, i also have a trampoline and im perfectly comfortable doing a backflip and other stuff so i should be alright. the trampolines a good idea ill do more backflips! intotheflats....yaa im sure i'll not get it my first bunch of attempts but when you say you havnt got hurt that makes it seem alot easier....no joke. i was just scared of hurting myself before the summer. if you say you havnt hurt yourself and youve done it alot then im going for it. YELLOWMOBIUS, good idea but i cant drink |

| I can land my backroll about every time. Basically just go for it. Your not going to land it if you never try. once you try it once you will want to keep trying it. It is like going on a roller coaster, its scary at first, but once you ride it, you want to keep going on it. |

| it's only water, sure it can hurt, but at least it's not hard Onterrible snow. trying to pshych myself up this year to do a lincoln loop on my skis (basically a back roll) was bloody impossible. backrolls were one of hte first things i tried. never worked, but you just gotta do it. don't think, just react. |
