stereo question

i just replace my old tape deck with a sony cd deck. I've got 2 problems!!
1. i have to flick the ACC switch to get power to the deck, and when i switch it off everything rests.

2. When i turn the volume up too much the unit shuts off.

please help me as this is pretty annoying

Sounds like you mixed up the power wires. One is for constant power, the other one is for switched power to let the deck know the key is on.

In a boat I put both on constant power since you want the stereo on when the boat is off.

Turning the volume up and having it shut off could be a lack of voltage. Most new decks will turn off under ~9vdc (good way to know your alternator has gone out and you have a minute to park your car before the battery dies!)
