Figure out what you're looking for and your price range. Narrow down your selection w/ what you're looking for...(like ankle strap, or basic) Once you have about 3-4 boots you like ride them. People can only tell you the way it works for them. I LOVE my highbacks, but that doesn't mean you will...so ride.

I want something easy to get into, I don't want a big production w/straps, laces, buckles etc..., but I do want a good solid hold on my foot and good ankle support. I have some basic Vario's on my Premier right now, but their ripped on my back foot, and sometimes my front foot shoots forward a little bit when I land and I have to finish my ride with my toes hanging out, but I think that is from my foot being pretty narrow, I have size 12 feet and my bindings are XL's right now.

get a pair of 02 belmonts... best boot for the money, comfy as hell, easy to get into, and an awesome hold. I've seen people selling em for like 150 or less.

lf alphas are great. Easy in out. 1 strap tightens it up. Really comfortable. Just a good binding.

one word hyperlite or maybe a few temet, or parks are the best and the most comfertable high backs are good for the price...

Laced bindings really make it easy to get in & a cinch to tighten up for awesome support. Laces are cool cuz they allow you to adjust the bindings while riding. I ride the CWB Zeus' & before that rode the CWB Vibe, I like the way CWB boots fir me. For '04 boots try the Boss, Zeus, or the Torq. The Boss is probably the most user friendly & has a ton of support while still allowing mobility for tweaks & such.

The Nice PRS1s are very supportive if you have weak ankels. Even if you don't, they are an overall excellent binding. If you can check into them.

ultras are a no-nonsense binding as are the highbacks. i ride the good byerlys (the ones before the shitty knob system that they have now). best advice is to try them on before you buy. i had my heart set on some 3060s but when i tried my byerlys on, they were so much more comfy.

I just got the TEMET, it's the most comfy boot i've been in, plus it has great support. the boa system up top really keeps ya in them. i would definately try them out. the byerly is good if you want something a little simpler, just one boa lace on the back. no lace on the toe like the temet.

NICE PRS1's or the new Ricky G model from NICE. Yeah they have laces and a rachet, but the footbed is amazing and they are bullet proof. The people are NICE know how to make an excellent binding and the CS is bad ass. I've never had a problem with the overlays ripping (hyperlite, lf), footbed slipping, binding plates bending, or anything for that matter. Check em out, I know they aren't the most trendy name in wakeboarding. Comfort and durability is what I look for though.

If you really want no nonsense go with the LF Ultras or the Hyperlite Highbacks. You can't go wrong w/ either.
