This question has been on my mind for a long time and i was just guessing at the entire wakeboarding population in the U.S. I think it would be somewhere from 300,000 to 500,000 people which includes wakeskating. Any others?

depends on your definition of a wakeboarder...anyone who has ever tried wakeboarding, or someone who wakeboards on a somewhat regular basis?

In 2000, the Sporting Good Manufacturer Association reported that wakeboarding had about 3.5 million participants.

A lot of that number probably includes people who just bought a wakeboard and do it like 3 times a year.

We helped this boat out the other day with some tips for teaching riders. About 15 minutes later the kid goes by us waving and grinning ear to ear. Wally or not it was so cool to pass a little of info down the line and see it pay off.

that's socal...how many boarders do u spose there are in montana? 3.5 mil is about 1 of every 90 people. i think that's probably close when u consider how many of the 300 million are either too old or too young to ride.
