Ok, guess its obvious since I am posting in here that I am a newbie, so I have a question on my bindings. I am using the '03 LF Exo's and while trying to get the butterslide down I caught my toeside edge. Well, it happened, the ever painful... 1 foot out - 1 foot in scenario...needless to say I havnt been able to really walk for 4 days now. Anywyas, I was wondering if I should loosen them up so I come out easier or tighten them so they stay on better ? When this happened, I didnt have the laces real tight on the bindings, but when I tighten them down they will start to cramp my feet after about 30-45 min.

Has anyone else been in the type of scenario ?
What are some opinions ?

Thanks
Derek

yeah ive had that happen to me- the butterslide to face plant and also the one foot in one foot out scenario, just not together like you.

i dont really do anything special to stop one foot coming out, i just try not to fall haha. i DO know that some people were talking about riding with their bindings a but looser so if they do fall, they will come out easier.

how long have you had the bindings? there is a chance that your bindings havent quite broken in completely, so when you ride for extended periods of time your feet will hurt (when they are tight of course). but since you say that your feet only cramp when the bindings are tightened this may be because they are actually hurting your feet.

The bindings are brand new...it was practically the first time they were ridden. I took them out a few nites before, but only for about 15 min.

well then you should not worry about your feet cramping up. the bindings you have are good quality and you just need to wear them a bunch. what i do is wear them in the bath or any other pool of hot water (not the spa, chemicals=bad). wearing them in hot water helps to soften up the binding so it can sort of mold to your feet.

unfortunately this wont really help your one foot in, one foot out problem...it will help your bindings be more comfortable though.

Ahh...thats a good idea about wearing them in the pool !
If they loosen up, then I can prolly cinch them down tight, then hopefully theyd stay on better !

Thanks !

umm the pool wouldnt help any. in fact i wouldnt wear them in the pool at all. who knows what the chemicals in your pool will do to the rubber on your bindings.

wear them in the BATH TUB. thats right foo light some candles and turn off the lights and relax.....ok im just kidding about that. seriously though hot water is the key ingredient here. and they shouldnt loosen up at all, just be more comfortable on your feet.

First off, bindings loose as possible or tight as possible, mostly everybody will get foot cramps after riding for 30-45 minutes...That is one LONG set. I would tighten them up pretty tight so you wont fall out even if it is sore at first. If they are loose and the 1 foot in / 1 foot out scenario happens again it might be alot worse than it already is. You'll end up twisting and/or even spraining a foot or ankle with them loose. Break them in, wear them tight is my advice...

Yeah, you want your bindings tight. It's safer to have your feet not come out instead of having them come out. You'll still have falls where one or both feet come out, but if you have your bindings tight it should usually stay on, except for really bad wrecks, and in that case, both feet will probably come out.

ive been in the same situation...except my binding came out in mid air.yes i said it mid air. hurt sooo much. its probably because that was on my old board with piecy bindings that didnt hold my foot in at all. since i got new bindings (03 highbacks) i havnt had any problems with cramping or coming out of them. like scott said putting them in the bath tub could work or just plain wearing them in could work too.
