today i landed what i think is a fakie bigspin but i dont know really what to call it...i cut inside out with my right foot forward(switch for me) on my heels. i initiate the 360 shuvit with my front foot and the board spins backside but my body does a frontside 180 so i land regular...i just dont know what this trick is called _________________ "it is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation" |

| I dunno, it sounds like it should be called something different than fakie bigspin. Half-cab bigspin sounds right though. I don't know I'm sure it's been done in skateboarding and already has a name... |

"the board spins backside but my body does a frontside 180"
I'm confused by this statment....
Are you saying that your spinning in the opposite direction then the board. If your spinning in the same direction then you to are spinning backside, in the true definition of half cab. But I'm not a believer in half cab in water sports _________________ http://www.integrity-wake.com

| I think it is a fakie bigspin, because i skate and a half-cab bigspin would be a 360 with a 360 shuvit, cuz a bigspin is a 360 shuvit with a half-cab. |

wtf did you just say???????
fakie and half cab are TWO different ways of standing on the board, if you don't know the difference then I can't help you.
and no a half cab big spin is not a 360 with a 360 shovit, because half cab is a nollie backside 180. a big spin is a backside 180 with a 360 shovit. so a half cab bigspin would be a regular bigspin from a half cab position
EDIT: do not listen to the above statement, my drunk brain got things confused _________________ http://www.integrity-wake.com

wakemitch its actually cabellerial but anyway. Wouldn't it be called a switch bigspin, not fakie because fakie is referred to riding backwards not switch. I know you can't ride backwards on a wakeskate but it just seems better to call it switch. _________________

Actually, I think as long as your not strapped in you can do fakie & switch & keep the terms delineated. I definitely think snowboarders & wakeboarders shouldn't use the terms like fakie & nollie, but a wakeskater could since you could use a different foot to initiate the trick from each stance.
To clear up some confusion, half cabs are fakie 180's & with big spins your body spins the same direction as the board. |
