Does anyone else happen to have a problem with either side of the wake? For us, it seems like the left side is always cleaner than the right side, no matter how much weight we add to the other side, it still doesn't seem to clean up. Even when we tried speeding up a little, it did get a little cleaner, but unfortunately, it seemed like there were two lips on it? It's kind of hard to explain. Any help would be great! Thanks! _________________ mmm tastes like chicken |

| It could possibly be a directional problem. See if your rudder needs calibrated. If that is the problem, your boat is consistantly turning slightly to the left. |

to be honest with you, i think you might be right. I noticed that if i want to go straight, i always seem to have the steering wheel turned to the left. I asked the dealership about this considering i don't know much about it and they said that it was natural and the hurricane naturally pulls to the right? any other thoughts?

I'm glad I could help.
How are you weighting your boat? When you add weight to the other side, and the wake still doesn't clear up on the right, does the boat still turn? |

Purestructure03, all inboards pull to one side. Might have a slight effect on the wake but not the entire problem. The wake will wash out if the weight is not balanced in the boat. Say you have 3 passengers and 2 are on one side and one on another. This unbalance in the boat will cause the wake to wash out. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

I have a Hurricane... Norcals right. It truly is a combo of direction and weight balance. You really need to shift the weight to get it right... _________________ (insert funny chit here) |

You might also see if the wake plate is adjusted equally.
If it is farther down on one side it could contribute to this. |

| My hurricane will have one side washed out as well until we move people around the boat. Once we do, the wake is clean on both sides. |

| I only use the center ballast, usually 5 to 6 people in the boat, at 70' and 22 mph, wake is very clean. It will get a little a curl at the top of the wake when I run through some choppy water. (2002 Hurricane) |

| yeah im wondering about that wake plate too. Doesnt seen to adjust much if at all. You guys adjust it all the way down or up? But back to the original question i'd move peeps around in the boat. A good crew will know how to clean up your wake. |

We had oshensurfer's wake built up real nice on saturday. Rode better than I have in 3 seasons (didn't ride for a while). I'm not sure exactly how we moved around but it seemed to workout and the boat stayed balanced most of the day. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

Thanks Nor*Cal,
I second the wakeplate deal that krbaugh said. I actually had it pretty tweaked down and the wake last time Norcal and Chavez were in the boat the wake was good sized but too rampy. I raised it maybe 1/2" and it literally made the wake very nice with perfect vert for me. But it will cause lip of the wake to roll on one side if the plate is down more on one side than the other. So will a slight turn of the boat though. So will uneven weight.
Bottomline, it's playing with all of the above. Once you get it right you'll know it. It sure was a nice feeling to hear some people that have opinions I trust, tell me they thought the wake was sweet. Especially since a year + ago, all I'd hear on this board what how much my boat was a POS just cause it's a Centurion. Needless to say, I was totally stoked! |

yeah i completely agree..it's good to know that Centurion is getting a little more credit than they used to! Can someone exlain how to adjust the wakeplate? Do i just twist the two knobs to adjust them?? I didn't even know that i could adjust it in the first place!

Loosen the locking spinner (knob on top) on each strut. Then the bottom one can spin raising or lowering the plate with a screw action. It can be cranked down pretty good, but just be careful not to crank it too much. If you don't have weight in the front that is good to have it down more. If you like vert on the wake then don't crank it down as far. You need to make sure you adjust both of the struts evenly. Look at it from the back and the sides to check level. _________________ (insert funny chit here) |
