they aren't really confusing, just hard to put back together, what year do you have?

I didn't think it was confusing or hard. You just take the bindings off the board and unscrew the 3 screws on each side of the binding. The overlays come off with the white plastic things, you just slide it over a notch or two, stretch it back and put the screws back in. Took me about 20 minutes.

Adjusting ultras is really straight forward, but still very time consuming. It's easy to adjust the overlays, but if you want to have a really good fit, you're probably going to have to adjust the underlays too. Those are the ones that are hard to adjust.

the old ones used to be really hard, i remeber wrestling for hours to put them back together, the new ones are really easy though.
