2003 X30 Vibration after hitting a small log

I ran over a small log and noticed a vibration when I exceed 25mph. There is no sign of damage, not even a mark on the bottom. I assume the prop may have a slight bend. Is it likely the shaft needs to be replaced?

while the boat is on the trailer, try to spin the shaft/prop... if it spins pretty freely (you may need to wet the strut), you probably don't have a bent shaft. If the shaft doesn't spin, it or the strut is possibly bent. Based on your description tho, it sounds like the prop is a little out of wack.

Just send the prop in for a tuneup and you'll be good to go.

If the prop is even slightly bent, the resulting vibration will be significant. A refurb costs less than $100.

I rolled the lip of my prop slighty which caused a slight vibration. I took it off, used a rubber mallet and a block of wood and beat it back as close as I could. No more vibration.

i had the same problem. took it to a prop shop, he did what CHINCY spoke of, no more vibration!!! be careful not to use excessive force, if its nibrel it doesnt take much at all. you deffinitly dont want to go the other way(to far). oh yea the good news is the prop dude didnt charge a thing. took just a few minutes. said he never saw such a thing.( he mostly deals with outboard steel props that need to be heated to bend).

Thanks to you all. After looking harder at the prop it does look like it has a slight bend to one of the blades. It'll come off tomorrow and to the prop doc! Thanks again!
