what you can do is get the Dephi reciever, car kit (contains the antennae, mounting kit, etc), and the FM modulator (goes in-line with the radio antennae, plus has its own power supply). I dont know if the clarion head unit you have utilizes an RCA input or has some kind of adapter, but if so, I'd go that route. _________________ I eat Vegans. Medium-Rare.

I have installed the Delphi in my x2, it mounts the same as it does in the car. The FM modulator interupts the antenna line, you will plug the antenna line to the fm modulator then the modulator plugs into the antenna port on the back of the head unit. when you want to listen to xm you tune the radio to 86.9 (I think) and the xm will broad cast through that signal.
All in all I think its about $300 for the xm unit, car kit and fm modulator.
I put my xm antenna next to the windshield mounted to the fiberglass so it uses the windshield post as a boost for the signal. |

I have the Dephi Skyfi and I have a docking station in my truck and in my boat. I switch it back and forth. The clerion head unit has a set of RCA plugs that are inputs for a CD changer, you can hook right into them. They are the set with red leads. _________________ Not all boats are created equal

I'd suggest going through that... I'm doing something similar with my alpine head unit. Direct RCA will have less signal degradation than an FM modulator... no matter how good the modulator is. _________________ I eat Vegans. Medium-Rare.

sorry im such a dumb ass, so i need the docking station also for the unit and just plug RCA's into back of docking station? how about installing the signal through XM? do i just let them know i would like to extened my coverage or how does that work?
1) docking station
2) head unit
3) antenna
-- is this it besides RCA's for around 300.00 minus the FM modulator? SORRY GUYS, just want a clear understanding before i start this little project!!!!!!!!! |

If your Clarion head unit has auxillary inputs you can plug the xm unit in w/ RCA plugs, otherwise you will need the FM modulator or the cassette adapter if you have a cass. deck. You will still need an extra docking station for the XM unit _________________ Don't sweat the petty stuff, just pet the sweaty stuff |
