man, so many threads on raleys. ive made one about this myself. this weekend i recently tried a raley, except on a wakeskate cause im too chicken to go for it wakeboarding yet. at first i was going for them and would end up doing a frontflip like you said. first, when you hit the wake on edge and let your legs drift behind you make sure you are extending your arms all the way because if they are bent its harder to pull down. the first time i did this i tugged hard (ha shook the tower) and landed fine, except just in the water witout a board. on one tho i tugged and then was coming down fine and then started turning backwards and slammed right on my back and wipped my head on the water. i dono what ur problem is hopefully that helps, just try and extend ur arms more and pull down to ur hips right away. (maybe try them on a wakeskate too) _________________

| if you keep the rope extended like wakekid07 said, the pull of the boat should not let you flip around. and that should stop your from going right over, but you might get some mean extension on the raley. i've done one where i was actually vertical, didn't land it, but it was huge. keep extended, and if you are still fliping, don't hesitate at the top, pull the rope down right away, and that should stop you going over, you might not extend as much, but you will have done one. |

also, if you are having trouble and doing frontflips, make sure when you are extended that you are looking at the boat and not down at the water _________________

yea look at the tower. This helps a lot of people. When i was first learning a raley i kept doin a very laid out backroll, but then i learned to keep both feet evenly weighted by watching the tower. If uyou could get a vid it would help you out a lot. _________________ UCSB Waterski Team |
