Right now i am at a dilemma in my slider building project. I have a 6'x2'x2' box with a 6 ft ramp leading up to it (like 2/3 of an aframe kind of) i plan to install raised rails along the middle of it. whats the best way to float this. The box is only five sided so there is no bottom and it is hollow inside.
/l``````l 2ft basically like that with not as steep a slant on the ramp
to me it sounds like that slider might not work to well. first off it is just too short. A 6 foot rail with an up slope so it is maybe 12 feet long. By the time you are on it you will be right back off of it. Next it is a good idea to make it wider if you are going to float it. The 2x2 box will tip and roll on you all of the time. next the slider will only be out of the water a little bit and when you get on it on one end the other will pop up or you will push it down into the water. I can say all of this only because I made many of the same mistakes on a floating box. So here's some things that will make it better. make it longer like at least20 feet, make it wider if you are going to float it and then use big ass barrels to float it. however a solid slider works much better. Sorry if this comes off as critical but I am trying to save you a lot of time money and disapointment. Hope it all works and enjoy it!
thats alright, but is there any way i could possibly put more floatation on the sides so that it is not as tipsy, and fortunately i will not lose a lot of money because the box was taken from a school play and the materials were also the schools
