Hello everyone
I have been looking at getting an X9 for a while to upgrade from the x5 I have now. I can get a 2004 with trailer and pp for 46K with out trade in. I just really hate the color and would love to stay with Black. There is a dealer 100 miles south of me that has a brand new never been off the showrroom 03 with custom decals, bimini, MC tower speakers(junk imo)and no PP. What do you all think would be a fair price for this boat in comparison to the 2004? I need some help and any ideas for negotiating.
Both have the MCX motor.
Dont you think they would want to get rid of an 03 asap with the 05s coming in JUly???

Thanks ALL
Late

You can get a new supra launch for $36k in my area pretty easy with all the inportant options. I think the Launch is the best D drive wakeboard boat.

I would say $36k is what I would pay for that Left over X-9 if I had to have a Mastercraft. Paying that little more for the name and Rep. I can't see how MC can sell a x-9 for 46K when you can get a wakesetter D Drive or supra launch in the mid 30's. Remember, I said sell it, not ask it.

I find the Mastercraft lineup to be so damn confusing, what with all the "pros" and "x's."

I get onto their website, and after 5 minutes, I'm like "screw this."

I know I cant get a launch for that price but i have always owned 3 Mc's and have dont care to get something else. I really like the quality and fit and fiinsh of an MC. That is my opinion though, and everyone is entitled to their own. Just wanted to see what everyone else would think a fair price for that boat would be.
Thanks
Any other opinions are always welcome

X-9= Prostar 209 w/ wakeboard pkg
X-2= Prostar 205V
X-10=Maristar 210
X-30=Maristar 230
X-80=Maristar 280 VLD
The X-Star is its own boat.

Ok, but even that is confusing. Are those the only "x's?" Why go from 2 to 9 to 10 to 30? What is the pattern I'm missing here?

I live in Maryland. Performance Boats will sell you a launch (msrp 39,999) with PP for $36k here without even being friendly with the dealer. There is definitly not as big as a market around here for wakeboard boats as Cali, TX or FL. I got quoted $43k on a 2003 X2 in july 2003 out of Dealer stock.

CB, there is no method to the madness Laughing

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they make the X-5 anymore. I think that was based off of the Prostar 195.

X-7=Prostar 197

The X just designates the Wakeboard Package (tower, graphics, ballast, bling).

Wow, sorry for sending this thread in the wrong direction. It wasn't my intention.

IMO, the 'bling' is just the sum of all the X-series package items. You have to admit that an X-2 with the package is much more flashy than a 205V. Everything from graphics, tower, board racks to the 70's Trans Am diamonized dash sticker all contribute to the look.

FWIW, I've always liked MC's products and style. I'm not putting them down in the least bit.

NAW, nothing against your post, because you are stating only facts, but it seems a lot of MC's bling seems to be held to the extent of their "flashy stickers and graphics". a tower is just something that should come standard on a wakeboard boat...ya know? board racks as well. i dont think the x-series really does have much bling to them, except some cheap-to-manufacture modern age "IMPACT RESISTANT!" plastic and some $5 stickers. they are great boats, but not really as blinging as the X makes them seem, but to a lot of newcomers with a lot of money, the X-series is top of the line, and i think that that is a large sector of where they get their profit from.

friend just purchased a brand new 2004 x-2 for 49k otd with all options. GET A BETTER DEAL ON AN X-9!...

P.S.-when i read my post over, it does seem kinda harsh, but i dont feel like revising it, but it really wasnt meant to thrash the X-series, because every new boat has a lot of wanna-be-bling in them and a lot of plastic as well... Laughing
