|
|
Well last night we were out riding and i noticed a small crack in the top of my trip 138 board. Anyway the crack got worse during my set and now the board is trashed, has about a 2 inch crack in the top on both sides, so now im in the market for a new trip and bindings, if anyones got anything out there let me know or a place that sells them for a good price new.
Also on another note, is it possible to repair a board thats cracked? the crack isnt all the way through, but it makes it damn near impossible to ride as it stops water. I was thinking about refiberglassing it and keeping it as a back up board or something? If repair is possible and anyone knows where i can find step by step instructions on how to do it please let me know.
thanks |

| jbt200, That hasnt been the case with me. I have broken 3 LF Trips, and i would just walk into our local board shop with the broken board, and they would go over to their board racks and hand me a brand new one, FREE. As well as when i broke my 2001 Ultrasuctions, walked in and they gave me the brand new 2003s for free. So that is my take on LFs warranty. |

hey james,
i have a trip 133 that cracked when my bf hit a slider and he repaired it with some bond-o and fiberglass. it wasn't the prettiest site, but we painted over it and it rides just like before. i'd still suggest trying to get a new one for free... just wanted to let you know it can be repaired if u were still looking into that |

It can be done, most of the stuff you need you can just go get at your local hardware store. This link explains it better than I can...even though it is from wakeworld

| Buy a surfboard repair kit. They come with all the essentials as well as fiberglass mat to ensure that it is super strong, you can either use chopped glass or actually sheet it depending on the type of damage you have. It even comes with instructions!! As for warranty, if you have a local shop that you bought it for check into it. I used to work for a shop & if the board failed we just hooked them up with a new one, even if it was 3 years old. Also you should try other boards, things have come a long ways since the Trip was designed IMO. |
