yesterday while on the lake, with perfect pass off, the throttle devolped play in it. what i mean is when you push the lever it doesnt work the throttle like it used to. it is this way in forward and reverse. it acts like there is slack in the cable. anybody had this happen or have any idea of what it could be ?

I had that happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I found that the set screw on the knob for perfect pass had losened up so the knob was not tigh on the saft. Got out the allen wrench, tightened it up, and everything was back to normal. Hope this helps

How much play? A couple degrees would probably be cable issue, but if this just recently developed, and the play is substancial (a full inch of play) then something is askew

yes maddog. it was the set-screw on the p/p servo. thanks for the help.


chaz28o, i had about 2 to 3 inchs of movement before it reved up the engine.
