Just wondering if anyone has heard anything? apparantly the 5 piece set up has been replaced with the silver / grey 3 piece?

That is correct, starting with all boats placed in to production as of about one week ago.

is it cheaper?

i heard correct craft saved the money of the black paint so they started doing silver on their towers and windsheilds.

but why silver? just for the hell of it? i liked the old black ones a lot more...

ya - I liked the black one as well...

we are in the process of ordering our 20v and the dealer just informed us of the change

so now we are going with the silver winsheild with black tower....yellow colour scheme

The black was anodized and will start to flake over time - ugly.

hmm... my family's company makes billet aluminum parts for our products that are black anodized and in over 25 years I've never seen an anodized part flake.

i saw the silver with a white tower and a silver with black tower today. it goes together much better with a white tower in my opinion. the white tower was on an all white 22v riders edition and the black was on a white with a black stripe 20v.

so is this a mid-production change or for the 05s?

I had a black windshield on my 01" tige and now have one on my 04' tige. no problems with either. maybe i just got lucky? Sorry to hear about your big d. sounds like a bad prep job?

yes, i saw 2 '04s at the launch today right next to eachother tied up on the docks. the silver frame just looks kinda cheesy and something that was intended to cut cost or something...the black just had that "style" going on...

I actually looked at a 21v on the lake this weekend. I think it was a 2000 or a 2002, but I dont quite remember. What I did notice is that the black windshield was a black glossy paint.

yes ralph, cheesy like our 04 SAN windshield. we are going to get the tower powdercoated soon to match the boat and we may have something done with the windshield. i will post pics when i can Laughing

All comes down to personal preference I guess, I don't like my black windshield, I'd swap it for a silver one any day.
