I am thinking of getting this camera soon, i am debating to get this camera in which then i would just buy the body off ebay or something and use the lenses that i already have for my 35mm Nikons, or do u think it would be better to just get the canon digi rebel?

Since you already have Nikon lenses this camera would be a great choice. It has a few more features than the Canon Digital Rebel for just a little more money. Picture quality is very good too - as you would expect from Nikon.

There's a lot of info about it including a full review on DPreview.com (digital photography review) - http://www.dpreview.com/

The D70 is so new and I've heard hard to get that I think you'll have a hard time finding any reviews other than online. I was very impressed with the one I played with at Keeple & Shuchat. It's really more like the 10d than the Rebel as far as it's constuction goes. It's Nikon's way of 1-upping Canon at least at the DRebel level. If you have Nikon lenses I think it's a no brainer.

It is my very first digital SLR and I love that thing. I havent even began to scratch the surface of the capabilities of this thing. The first day I had it we went out riding and I snapped off like 80 pics. The clarity is amazing, especially with the lens im using. I just used the one that came w/ it, 18-70 until I can get a 70-200. Ill post some but the files are too big and when i compress them they get distorted and lose that clarity. Whats the easiest way to change it.

dragon85, if you have photoshop, when you resize the image, make sure you have the "constrain proportions" box checked. I dont know much, but I wouldn't think a pic should lose any quality by making it smaller.

You have to resize the pic using bicubic interpolation and by having the constrain proportion box checked. Don't use nearest neaighbourg (sp?) or crap like that.
