The boat is a new I/O powered (Merc 6.2 320 HP) 21 footer with an 8'6" beam and a tower. I am 6'6" and 230 lbs., fairly athletic and a very experienced recreational slalom skier. My slalom ski is 70". |

Probably need something like a 141. Have you ever wakeboarded before? How much you lookin to spend for the board and bindings? |

well first off alott of it is preference so if you like the 142 then good, but in most cases that is too large for you and i would say anything between a 133.5 and 136 would be good for you. But if your still learning how to wakeboard a bigger board could be better for you

the first board i was on was an old HO directional board with sandal bindings, I don't remember the length, but it was pretty big. While I saw the other board on the boat (I believe a liquid force) that looked a lot cooler, It would have kicked my ass for the first time out. That Huge board gave me a chance to focus on my fundamentals, rather than just eating it. I progressed to a 142 full tilt board with little rocker. It was still a step up, but I outgrew it very quickly (although I can land jumps a lot easier on it than my current board)
I'm now down to a 136 with a three stage rocker. It is a hell of a lot squirrlier, but a hell of a lot more fun when you get it working.
Moral of the story, go with whats comfortable, not what everyone else does (god I sound like an afterschool special)
