last week i posted a topic about trying backrolls and being scared to. this weekend i finally worked up the courage to try a backroll. my first attempt wasnt so pretty cause i tried to throw the b oard back and started spinning and landed on my back. my second attempt was way better. i brought the board around the right way and landed on the water and then slipped out. after those attempts i was too tired to try anymore cause i had already been riding for a good while. im so happy that i tried it now and kind got the hang of it already. now im not near as scared and im confident i will get it. thanks for helping me out last week and i want to let you know i tried it....it may not be a big deal to you guys but im so excited now. |

You'll be suprised how confident you'll get once you land it. I learned 5 inverts within 3 months of landing my first backroll (my first invert), mainly because I saw how easy it was vs. how scared I was and it wasn't bad at all. After that I was able to try a bunch of new things without being as scared. Good luck dude, Hope you land it soon! _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

Don't be afraid to do a 360. I mean I haven't done it yet, but my 2nd attempt I went big on it and got w2w. I caught my toeside edge and scorpioned. Couldn't remember the past year for a half hour and had to be woken up every hour that night to make sure I didn't die. Other than that I haven't tried it since but I'm sure you'll do better. I stick to learning inverts for the moment till my sack grows again and I can try learning spins. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

| Yea, we call that "breaking the seal" Where you're too scared to try something new until you grow some balls and just throw your body around trying it. Then you realize that it's not so bad so you keep trying it until you land it. I had to for my backrolls and I did it just this past weekend trying my first blind 180. I landed it wrapped just fine but wasn't used to landing wrapped and fell; so I didn't land it. The second attempt I pulled way too hard and got totally f'edup. Yet, I still can't wait until the next time I ride so I can try it again. |
