|
|
I am looking to buy a used Malibu wakeboard boat for 25-55k.
Most desired features: Illusion tower, large ballast, perfect pass, wedge (preferrably power)
I'm a very experienced wakeboarder with a handful of inverts under my belt but only have experience on an older '98 Malibu with wedge.
Looking for advice on which used models (VLX, XTI, LSV), years, other features are recommended and approximate price ranges.
Will use primarily for wakeboarding and surfing on Lake Castaic, CA. |

Why illusion tower? It's a garbage tower, looks cool, but very poor design. Titan III tower is much better. I own a illusion, and wish I didn't.
Best boats to buy:
02-04 Wakesetter VLX: 18K to 35K
05-08 Vride (same hull as pre 04 Vlxs) 25K to 40k
Mid tank 500 lbs, rear tanks 200 lbs each
05 to 08 Wakesetter VLX 35k to 50k
up to 1250 lbs of ballast.
Features, wedge, either manual, floating, or power. Cruise control is about the only must have feature, everything else is optional. |

Isn't the 09-current V-ride the same hull as the 05-08 Wakesetter? SHould be possible to find one of those for <55K right? _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

I have the illusion tower and never thought it looked "cool" but now that I have it it is a very well designed tower, easy to put up and down, solid, and the bimini top fits it like a glove(good on those 100 dgr days) and does not rattle, I even had it on the highway at 65 mph with no problem. _________________ Live to Ride, ride to live |

So well designed, the company that made it went out of business. I'm glad yours works well, but a lot of them don't, and take some work to fix.
Yes the 09 vride is the same hull as 05-08 vlx. |
