I don't want to ruin it for anybody, but if you want to know what I thought, from the point of view of a Matrix fan, just say so.
I dying to talk about it.

How was it? Did it live up to expectations? No plot give-aways, just quality reviews please! And how'd you see it so soon?

Well, being a Hollywood baby, you get certain perks. As far as quality...I was disappointed. Which is tough because I'm a big Matrix fan. It's on my desktop for crying out loud.
But It did not live up to it's predecessors. It's gonna get trashed by reviewers. I'm a storyteller by profession, and I felt jipped.

The original was the koolest. 2nd one was pretty cool in my book, and 3rd...well.
The problem is that there was nothing very mimorable about it. It was a regular action movie. The effects were cool, of course, but way too much talking that didn't really further the mystique of the matrix. And characters that you dont know that well your suddenly supposed to care about. I wanted to love it sooo bad.
Maybe I should have taken the red pill before seeing it instead of the "green" pill.

I dont wanna give too much away. But I wasn't challenged as a viewer which is what made the other 2 so good.

I thought it was pretty good...definitely leaves a lot of questions at the end though.

M3Orion, You didn't feel disappointed with the continuation of the story?

No, I meant how they continue the story in the 3rd, or rather, how they dont continue the story.
Believe you me, it does end. And not to my liking at all.

I liked it a lot. The ending didn't thrill me at all though. I felt it was pretty lame. Oh well. I wasn't that disappointed. I felt that overall it answered some of the questions, but not all of them. I think thats because they're going to try to continue the Animatrix thing. I'm not sure how much more I can say without giving things away. I am dying to talk about it though.

i havent seen the third or even the second im waiting for them to come out on dvd. you know, watch all three right after another with bonus features and stuff. anyways my friend saw it and hes a huge matrix fan and says the third one is awful that the second is all right and he loves the first one. unfortunately i founmd out how it ends and it sounds like a crappy ending to me.

As a storyteller, te ending totally pissed me off. The characters in the last shot were rediculous. Why? It failed itself.

Yea I would have to agree with that, jbelson.
The Headless Chicken, it really is cooler in the theater. But that is a good idea nonetheless.

I was a little dissappointed...I think the writers got a little carried away, and the story fell a little bit into the realm of eccentricity. They had some very good ideas that the film didn't do justice to.

i saw it wednesday night....preorder tickets anyways....the ending was horrible. thats as big of a cliffhanger as Reloaded. how many people are with me....who thought that neo was going 2 destroy the AI?? thats what i was expecting....but nooo....man all the posters and trailers skewed my ending. "everything that has a beginning has an end" i thought was applied 2 the matrix. like....ooo no more matrix.
on the other hand though....if you dont count the ending, the rest was phenominal. i absolutely loved the rest....especially the zion fight. holy crap that looked so good and capt. mifune...wow. even "the kid" did a good job. overall a good movie

This is the way I see it:
90% of the matrix 2 is a throw away. You could almost take that whole movie out of the series and it would still fit together.
All the new storylines which began in that one are discontinued in the third. They spend minimal time sewing them up and then that's it.
The defending of Zion is AWESOME however, probably worth the price of admission alone.
It's also fun spotting all the Aussie soapie stars acting tough and putting on American accents.
