|
|
I am looking for a new boat and need to narrow down the options
the boats I am looking at are
SANTE
X2
Tige' 20v Riders
Sanger V210 or V215
the only important things for me in order is...
the wake
reliability and build quality
ability to handle big chop
It will be running in salt but I'll have a heat exchanger
The Dealers are all 6 hrs dve minimum and for Sanger a 12hr plane ride haha but there are plenty of mercruiser outfits close by for servicing.
space isn't a big concern normally the most we would have is 6 people but only 4 boards
normally I would rule out the sanger only because it is a mission to get one here to NZ but a friend of mine did it and it is the dogs bollocks
I have ridden behind sanger v210 and the the X2 and really like the wake on both of them
I am yet to ride behind the Tige and the SAN but this will happen soon
Thoughts??
any input would be greatly appreciated especially with guys and gals that have been behind heaps of different boats |

| get the SAN. heard they are over 100 grand in austrailia though. there is another aussie rider on this board that has had 3 of the 10 SAN's in austrailia. if you want to save a couple bucks, get the tige, which is a pro class boat for quite a bit less than the SAN, and its still quite a bit ahead of a 215. |

Wakeupdude... When you say the Tige' is still quite a bit ahead of the 215 in what aspects do you mean.
I am looking at a SAN probably in a couple of weeks but I have a feeling that I might not like the wake although I will reserve judgement until that time |

| well, i really shouldnt say the tige is quite a bit ahead, because as we all know, its preference, but as far as construction goes, i, being MYSELF ONLY(just so i dont get ragged on like in other threads), think that tige is a better built boat, but it also costs a good sum more than a 215 around here. we used to have a sanger, and it was a great boat, but tiges seem to have a better fit and finish than the sangers i have seen(we have never owned a tige either, so dont think im biased in that way), but i do prefer the sanger's wake over the tiges. that is also preference. i think that our SAN has a fantastic wake when weighted to my specs, and when weighted, the sanger wake can be nearly identical to our SAN's, hence the reason i like it. to me, the tige's wake just doesnt jive with me. if you are newer to the sport, this wont bother you as much as someone like me who has been riding for 7 years. you will have a great time on any of the boats that you mentioned, but when you live in australia, and have a hard time getting your hands on a sanger, i wouldnt bother with it because there are many equal and better boats that you can get your hands on, but at a price. |

Thamks for that
what year was the sanger you had Wakeupdude and what is your front to rear weight distribution in the SAN.
I keep hearing about the SAN wake being really steep and people either like it or hate it is this true in your opinion.... can you just add more weight to the front to make it more rampy. |

The Tigé will also handle the chop better, due to the deeper vee. Theres also the deeper freeboard. I've got an '04 22v, and I can tell you that the new Lifeplus core is rock solid. 35+ MPH through whitecaps (loaded or unloaded) isnt a problem. _________________ I eat Vegans. Medium-Rare.

We ordered the 20v....coming soon (hopefully)
the reason we stayed away from the other boats....
SAN = too expensive
x2/10 = poorer quality - i liked the x2 but it was too wakeboard specific - needed more an all rounder
sanger = quality
just my thought process when we got ours... _________________ www.highrollerwakeboarding.com |

the colours took forever to choose -
it was a family investment so we had to keep everyone happy....
Went with the grey hull, yellow, white with black tower and winsheild...all the accessories except the stereo upgrade...that I will have to add later.
we opted out of the 22v cause it was just too big for the dock/boat house and our use of the boat.... _________________ www.highrollerwakeboarding.com |

| Alter Ego, you thought the X2 was lower quality? We tested a ton of boats, and in my opinion the X2 was the best quality out of any of them. I've ridden behind all the bigger names, and still love my '02 X-star (X2). |

Ruune, I doubt the Tige will handle the chop a whole lot better than the 215... they are probably fairly equal despite the deeper V.

Same with the 215...

but tiges seem to have a better fit and finish than the sangers i have seen

Have you only seen the 210/230? Just curious. The 215's interior is quite different and IMO far nicer than previous Sangers.
Tige interiors are just as nice on their comparable boats though. _________________

I would suggest maybe a sky supreme, they are VERY deep as V-drives go. either that or the 20v, it as stated before has huge freeboard and is pretty deep.
The X2 also has a heap of freeboard and a deep v, I rode in/behind one a few weeks ago in some pretty bad lake chop (big lake) and it handled it like a 22ft i/o super smootth and rock solid (tower wobbled badly though which was a worry)
CC boats are a big no no in chop, very little freeboard and very shallow, they are true lake boats. I know a guy who uses his SAN near us in the Ocean and he hates it, it gets tossed around and takes water over the bow in crappy condition. also bangs like hell when hitting waves.
Nothing against CC boats, they are awesome, but not for the ocean. _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

ya - we were hearing some horror stories of X-10's interior and engine problems. I know they were just stories - but it was enough to turn us off. one thing is for sure the X-2 is a sick wake (old X-stars), big and vertical _________________ www.highrollerwakeboarding.com |

| powdrhound, we weight our boat with the average 10 people in it with a 550 lbs sack in the bow, 2 phat buddies in the lockers, and one of those skinny bags in the center locker above the ballast tank, plus the stock ballast(wedge tanks), and we use some lead headz to even the wake on boat sides. you probably wouldnt want to do that on anything but glassy water because the boat sits really low and will take in water as it is when you cut around to get a downed rider |

| didnt you post pictures of your yellow sanger and your yellow 150? that is a very nice boat. i cannot comment on the wake and ride quality in a 215, but i cant imagine it would be bad |
