Hey guys, I get to wakeboard regularly (3-4 times a week) and since I got up 2 weeks ago I can cross the wakes with relatively no problems, and do minute jumps. Now I have some snags I hit along my progress that I need help discerning, couldn't find anything on the boards.
1. When Im craving on my toeside into the flats, I feel the back toe beginning to catch and get the feeling that im going to land in the water. This causes me to ease off the carving, but I dont go as far or nearly as aggressively as I do on my heelside. (I ride a player series O'brien, 138cm)
2. This brings me to my next question; I ride my friend O'brien player series board, which is a really loose board (0.7, and four molded fins). I rode some shitty beginner board, (too short for my build, and bindings are really small) And once i began to grasp turning and carving, I switched to the O'brien and after a couple of runs I began to love it. Should I invest in a motive? Or stick to the obrien?
3. What should I work on and how should I go about doing it? I was thinking about doing switch, but what else? |

no, just ride the board you have, and learn to love it haha. well you can always get a new board but it isnt mandatory. jsut keep riding, and you willg et used to it.
yea, ride swtich, can you do wake too wake jumps? try 180s, butterslides, ollie, ollie 180/360, 360. on the home page of this site there is a trick tips link, click that and learn the tricks in the beginner section. |

DunDunDun pretty much said it all, getting your toe wet isnt that big of a deal it happens every once in a while when you get used to your board it should get less frequent and youll still have good control even if it happens and for w2w jumps dont be afraid of the wake get out a good distance (depends on what kind of boat you have) and carve back hard, keep your weight centered on both feet and stand tall at the wake, DONT try to "jump" or ollie at the wake and remember to keep the line tight _________________ "This suit is really crampin' my hardy boys, and its no mystery" |
