I did some searching on this board but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. I was on the Sac river yesterday after getting my boat back becuase the fuel pump went out. Anyway, I was droppingoff m friend at the dock and when backing up the boat pulled to the right and the prop either hit a log that was submerresed or hit some rocks. Now my prop is pretty bnt up and was wondering if I should get a 4-blade or a 3 blade. It currently has a "bent" 3-blade. It is a 02 Calabria Pro-V with the 315 Mercruiser Mag MPI Engine. Maybe a dumb question but I wil ask anyways. I am assuming that becuase the prop is so damaged that it would cause a sterring wheel vibration due to not "cutting" the water correctly?

do not drive that boat anymore until the prop is either replaced or fixed. You could do more damage to the transmission or somewhere else. The bent prop is causing your heavy vibration. How bad is it bent? Yu can easily get it fixed. There is a place in Rancho Cordova called American River propellors that does a great job and is cheap. He is a one man shop and he does a great job. I am guessing you bought your Pro V at Larson Marine? I would take your prop down your self instead of going through Larson. It will be cheaper that way. Those props are expensive.

I wasn't planning on take the boat out. While I was waiing for my buddy to back down the trailor I just gave it a little gas to see if I didn't rip the damn thing off... Took it easy getting it on the trailor. Thanks for the heads up. I actually didn't get my boat from larson but had them work on it for the past 3 weeks. That was a expensive three weeks. Twisted Evil

yeah man, just get it repaired. it will end up being cheaper than a new prop and i have seen some pretty messed up props come back from being repaired looking real good.

That really sucks about your prop. Those props are expensive.
How is boating on the sac river? I was going to take it down there yesterday and cruise around but never made it down there. I hear they have some wakeboard competitions down there during the summer.

Sorry to hear about the damage.

If the prop repair guy for some reason cant salvage the old prop I highly recommend the new nibril 4 blades that Calabria is putting on their boats. You might pm Pheaton.. I think I remember him saying he went a size larger then the factory and has seen improved preformance.

JUst so I could sleep better at night and know that it was just the prop, plus I always needed a spare, I went to larsons and grabbed an acme prop. PUt it on and took the boat to the river. RUns like champ now. Now I just have to get the other one fixed, if possible, so I have a spare. Just for fun I looked at the log I think I hit and it had some slice marks and such to it. It might have been from my prop so I kicked the f'er.
