I trunked it last year in 53 degree water. It was very cold and I probably wouldn't do it again but I was fine. I would probably say around 50 if you have a full body wetsuit. Oh, and by the way, it is impossible to get sick from the cold, sickness is caused by viruses.

That is what I was going to say, as soon as you can get your boat in the water.

Wicked Bite,
I live in Germantown too. We usually start the season here around the middle of March but start riding in early March in Orlando. Are you doing the Mississippi INT? If you need a ride, I've got a bunch of people I ride with.
Later,
Brad

check with the company that made the suit and see what that particular one was made for, if its a fairly thick suit then in most cases you should be ok, I rode in water that was bout 37 degrees the other day haha the ice just melted a few days ago but im usin a semidry suit

If you had a dry suit it wouldn't be an issue... your feet and hands would be the only thing to get cold....

In NorCal I rode last year with out a drysuit on April 1st. Today is pushing 80 so it looks to be the same for this year.

i ride on lake travis in austin texas, and i've been goin out since early-mid march. it was a little shy of 58 then i think. i've heard that without any kind of wet or drysuit, it's safest to go if the water temp plus the air temp comes out to at least 100. i think it lies more along the lines of what you can take. Smile

If you actually get in the water and board, you will be glad you did. It's warm enough when you have the balls to get in... Period. For me, the water needs to be above 60. That's big balss to some and small to others.

yesterday the temp here got to 103. I had to work outside, so it sucked that it was that hot. I would have much rather been behind the boat.
