To stop faceplanting:
Arms straight, kneese bent don't look at the water look at someone in the boat work on that till you get comfortable to cross the wakes _________________ They know what is what but they dono what is what they just strut. |

concentrate on getting up and staying up, then work on crossing the wake.. worry about tricks after you find your balance |

I think its always better to start from deep water; off the dock might look cool, but it isn't very practical. (I'm sure you can search for threads on deepwater starts and find a s-load of tips)
When you're riding, keep your weight towards the back of the board (away from the boat) maybe 30-40% of your weight towards the front, the remainder on the other leg.
And of course, keep your knees bent, this will keep you better able to handle some of the inconsistancies in the water (waves, rouge wakes, etc) _________________ 6 beers shy of a half case |

The only way I can think that you would be face planting is if the board is horizontal to the boat, when you get up you need to bring the rope into your leading hip and the board should travel sideways. If you want to find out what which foot should go at the front ask someone to push you from behind and see which foot goes forward first, that is your lead foot. And as AlanL said, the best way to avoide a face plant is to lean back slightly and avoid going on your toeside edge until you are used to it. The other thing is to ask the driver what speed they are going at, i would recommend 20-22 mph. Anyway thats about it really apart from dont give up, your get it! |

well now that you dont do face polants anymore and you can jump the wake, you should try doing toe side 180s into the middle of the wake or doing little grabs over the wake _________________ blast....foiled again |
